That money isn't staying here though, is it. We're still going to send it abroad to other countries poorer than India. Meanwhile, in this country, homeless people wander the streets, ex-servicemen and women struggle to get medical and mental health support, children live in poverty and elderly people have to decide between turning on the heat and having a hot meal. Shameful.

But the money isn't being saved or used here is it? It says they're just moving it to poorer countries than India.

It's called 'Robbing Peter to pay Paul'. Stop one handout so they can give that money to other countries, so they have'nt got to come up with more money out of their budget, as they don't want to give to both.

I don't think we should give any money out to other countries when we have enough problems of our own. Let America do it, they can easily afford it unlike us

It is time it was stopped but it's not going to happen until 2015 as to India anyway.
I cannot add anymore to Livia's post though above, her totally accurate and perfect assessment of problems we have here.

I agree with the points you make, however as a price for sitting at the top table of World powers the UK must be seen to be giving a proportion of its wealth or GDP to less fortunate countries. India in my opinion has enough wealth of its own and should not be on our donors list, better to send the money to more deserving poorer countries.
