Default Sloth on a boat
Sloths aren’t known for being fast but a video of one that’s speeding down the Amazon in a boat has gone viral.

The slow mammal is said to have fallen from a tree and landed in the vessel.

But rather than panic, the sloth acted in typically laid-back manner and just sat back and enjoyed the ride.

The video of the journey shows the lethargic animal seated on a bench with its arms in the air – a move it may have pulled off in order to dry itself after becoming wet.

The posting has won almost universal praise with most viewers saying the sloth was cute and the video was heart-warming.

Twitter user @natty_hart wrote: ‘Not sure why but this makes me smile (:’

@SarahsShizzle was also similarly wowed and added: ‘This has had me in STITCHES!! I want a pet one now!’

But not everyone was happy. One YouTube user questioned whether the animal was actually ’scared stiff’ with what was happening.

Nope, I don't think we're getting the full story behind this sloth. I think some South Americans wanted a hit youtube video and karma on Reddit. They kidnapped that sloth i think. Poor sloth. In the video you could see him reaching out his arms saying "sloth want tree! sloth want home"
