http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-21740156

Quote:
England's most capped footballer Peter Shilton has been charged with drinking and driving.

The 63-year-old, of Kenilworth in Warwickshire, was arrested in Manor Road in Colchester on 24 February.

Mr Shilton, whose partner is understood to live in Colchester, was charged with driving with excess alcohol.

The legendary keeper, who started his career at Leicester City, is expected to appear before Colchester magistrates on 19 March.

Mr Shilton was sold to Stoke by Leicester for a then world-record fee for a goalkeeper, and went on to play for a number of teams during his 30-year career.
Et tu, Shilts .....

Thumbs up Ex-England goalkeeper Peter Shilton admits drink-drive charge

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-21841876

Quote:
England's most capped footballer Peter Shilton has been banned from driving for 20 months after pleading guilty to a drink-driving offence.

Magistrates in Colchester also ordered him to pay fines and costs totalling £1,020.

During the hearing, lasting 15 minutes, the court heard he was found to have more than double the legal amount of alcohol in his system when he was breathalysed by police.

He was driving a 2010-registered Jaguar XF near the home of his girlfriend, Stephanie Hayward, and was caught after an anonymous tip-off to police.

As he left court, Shilton said: "I've nothing to say, really - just that I had a very fair hearing."

He left in a taxi from the nearby Colchester Town railway station
.

Good for Shilts .....
