Meanwhile, Channel 5 are said to be turning Big Brother into more of a "social experiment", and include less wannabes in the house.

"The show needs to change and that's what we're doing. We want to get back to the essence of what made it must-see telly," the source added.

"We've got some interesting people signed up this year - including some older folk. We don't just want a bunch of fame-hungry youngsters who only want to show off."

Does this mean you wont watch if the house is full of normal (ish) kind of folks that don't feel the need to strut their stuff and engage in profanity, nudity and nastiness. I guess this is the sign of the times we live in.

Personally I like a mix in the house with young and old, thick and intelligent, gay and straight and quiet and loud. What I don't like are wannabees that think that being an arsehole is their ticket to stardom or alternative gender folks that think that straight people owe them something.

The Brian Bellows and Dowling types make good tv. Even Jade and nasty nick got the juices flowing but when we need to suffer through nobs like last year (mentioning no names) it makes for uncomfortable viewing and a complete lack of control from the production team.

Get the bloody tasks and the live feed back in line and the viewers will flood back. I wouldn't even mind paying for the live feed.

It was a tongue in cheek comment that Lucas will have understood, given our banter history. I cant see where the baiting came in, maybe you are trying too hard to read something into nothing.

Nope....I've read it again and cant see where the baiting is. The whole post was a generalisation on the show and its demographics, it doesn't seem to me to be pointed in anyone's general direction, let alone Lucas.

For what its worth, Lucas keeps me on my toes but he never goes over the top with me. He knows how to push my buttons but does it in such a way that I place a retort with a smile on my face, not a grimace.

I'm pretty sure Annette Edwards is one of the chosen housemates this year, especially with all the talk about older housemates going in. She's supposedly been recruited by researchers for the show. I came across a video of her though and it looks like her BB audition to me. If she goes in, she'll be the oldest ever civilian BBUK housemate (at age 61)

Everything shes talking about revolves around her home life or things shes done.

She makes no comment on her personality.

She would probably be boring when shes taken away from all that and misses her kids and animals blah blah.
