I think it may be Mourinho too....seems a bit coincidental with all the speculation about Jose coming back to Chelsea and now this coming pretty much out of the blue... Will be a split decision - a lot of United fans I know who I've spoken to in the past don't like the "Special Ones" techniques

I suppose it had to come some time.

As an Arsenal fan he is occasionally frustrating and childish but as a football fan he is one of the greatest managers of all time. A champion to the sport.

Wow that came out of nowhere, I know it was rumoured last night but given the rumours before. What a huge loss to the PL. Thank God we still got Brendan Rodgers.

Ben Smith ‏@BenSmithBBC 22m
Now if the next part of this story pans out as I was told yesterday, English football might just implode.

WTF?!

Hayley McQueen ‏@HayleyMcQueen 9h
Coincidently my dad last yr told me he'd be retiring this yr, Moyes had always been his choice to fill his shoes, I argued it'd be Mourinho!

He's done as much as he can do I suppose. If Wenger retires too then I'll be very happy.

Simply the greatest manager ever, it would be a disaster if Jose decides to abandon Chelsea and goes to United though

There are people phoning in the radio shows here in Manchester in tears....

They must have someone lined up as SAF wouldn't have done this otherwise....I definitely think it will be between Jose and Moyes...

I wonder how the people who were on 606 on Sunday evening blasting him for his team selection against Chelsea are feeling.

for a majority of us Fergie has been in charge at United for our whole lifetime.. will be so surreal seeing another manager at the club next season

Players, then technical staff and then remaining staff all briefed by SAF in three seperate sessions at Carrington today.

Would love to of seen the reaction. Would of been totally gutting.
