Default BGT hits ratings high

The fifth episode of the programme saw more than 10 million viewers tune in from 7:45PM, making the episode the highest rated of the new series to date.

With those watching on ITV+1, an overall average audience of 10.9m million watched the show, peaking with a huge audience of 12.3 million.

Love how this series is keeping up the high ratings week after week, definitely the best series in years.

wat.

There has been one 'STANDOUT' act, that it'd be a travesty if they weren't winning the show by at least 80%. The rest has been bloody awful, singers overload which means the final will have at least 5 again. It's now tired and worthless as a formula. How it's maintained an audience and The Voice is already 'dated and boring' baffles me when they watch dirge like what has been on this series.

Yeah, it's so tired and worthless that it's by far the most watched programme this year.

I'm not having ago here btw, you're obviously welcome to your own opinion

Quantity doesn't really mean quality though does it. lolol.

It's just X Factor in the spring now, with the added fact kids can sing as well.

If it wasn't a quality show then it wouldn't attract such audience figures week after week. People would have turned off after the first week if they were unimpressed.

10.54m (45.2%) and a peak of 11.33m for raw overnights, excluding +1. Including +1, it logged 10.92m (46.8%).

Whatever people think of this series, it's been one of the most watched so far. You'd have to go back to Susan Boyle's year (2009) to find higher audition figures.

Yeah, exactly. I know it doesn't cater to everyone but the vast majority clearly think otherwise. I've really gotten into this series actually.

BGT has always been awful. Maybe if they banned singers and dance troupes it might become interesting, but its just The X Factor lite with the odd spoon bender and bell ringer thrown in on occasion. And child singers are the worst thing about it...

Personally I think everything is right this series, but if you're saying that the talent hasn't been up to scratch for your liking then the thing they have right is the judging panel. It's the best panel of judges I think any televsion show has had in years. Fantastic chemistry and really makes the show watchable and entertaining regardless of the show content. This panel is on par with The X Factor's strongest panel of Simon, Cheryl, Danni and Louis.

Yeah. The Judges are solid tbf. The talent and number of singers are the negatives that our rule it though for me.

Could only muster 8.8m/38.1% last night, 9.25m/40% including +1, but that was to be expected.
