Obama seems to be slam dunking the European bigwigs!
42 months ago the unemployment rate in the USA was almost identical with Europe Europe at 9.8% the US at 9.7% after a year the gap grew to around 0.5% ....after 2 years it was 1% but then it accelerated as obamanomics and his 100s of initiatives, bills and stimulus packages as well as cutbacks where necessary (i.e. military) and some excessive civil service jobs, kicked in so after 2.5 years the gap sped up to 2.4% after 3 years.....US rates fell to 8% and the European rate climbed to 11.5% now after 3 .5 years the gapo is a staggering 5% as US unemployment is down to 7.5% and expected to keep falling Europe is up to 12.5% I can only assume from all this that it underlines some massive progress by Obama (critics say some who don't seek work or unemployment benefits at all aren't counted but that's the same in Europe too) It also seems to me to highlight the strength of the US system that enables it to adapt to a massive recession quicker and more effectively than Europe....the US constitution is just 13 pages ours is an unreadable unworkable 580+ pages theirs grew from the bottom up, ours grew from the top down all this does is feed my suspicion that the EU is a totally ineffective wasteful corrupt cartel of freeloading unaccountable politicians on huge salaries....whose only achievement is to tie in dozens more nations 1 one currency so losing all economic independence and ability to change course and of course create a myriad of millions of petty burocracy and seemingly infinite rules and new laws |

The US unemployment rate is not completely accurate. I think we use a different system to measure unemployment than the EU. The numbers are definitely manipulated a bit. There are A LOT more unemployed people in the US than is shown in the US numbers.
I'm not saying that Obama hasn't done a good job, i'm just saying US unemployment is probably higher than what the numbers suggest. I certainly wouldn't be happy with the EU if i was a European though. They seem to be trying to please everyone but in the end pleasing no one. Both the US and the EU have a lot of problems.
