Default Was anyone asking for "Vote To Evict" back?

I don't understand this at all, I didn't think there was any big motion for them to bring this back, it seemed like people were happier with Vote to Save:
  • It allowed you to support your favourite rather than your least favourite
  • It kept bigger characters in, which would mean people would spend MORE to keep them in
  • It set up a precedent where it is always vote to save, meaning there was very little chance of confusion with viewers (See Natalie Cassidy in CBB9)

It makes them more money and overall it kept viewers happier, why would they revert? This will confuse viewers again and mean that the more controversial characters will go early, taking with them a lot of potential save votes.

The only reason I can see is that the team are trying to return to the way it was on Channel 4, but that's grasping at straws.

So yeah, basically, was anyone wanting Vote to Evict back?

Practically nobody, the panel and audience members on BOTS (and even Rylan for ****ing God sake) are against it.

As I said in the other thread the fact they're closing the lines midweek to turn it into a head-to-head confirms that this is none other than a money grabbing ploy. So just so they can make a bit of extra money we'll now lose the biggest character each week. Laughable.

Have to be honest, I do prefer it in some situations- lets be honest about 70/80% of the time in BB6-11 it's worked well?

A fair few, don't get why it's the most moronic decision they've made, in what has been an amazing revamp, can't wait to see Sam keep up with his creepy comments and the fat twins eat crisp. Just no, I'm done.

I already know this series will now be a disaster, once Gina, Sallie and Dexter go, I'm done, maybe even when Gina goes this week.

They've brought it back because of the backlash of Speidi almost winning last year I think.

Yeah, that's the thing, either way, you usually end up with the same result, two or three main contenders get to the final along with the floaters. So why would they change it back? They surely would be getting more votes for people supporting their favourites week after week rather than voting to knock them out once and then they're gone.

I'm trying to look at this from the producer's perspective and it just doesn't make sense.

Exactly. I don't even know why I bother with this show anymore. Thank God for US drama and reality shows. At least I have some other fun and interesting shows to look forward to in the next few weeks.

If Gina goes and Sallie follows I will probably stop watching this year, I like a few others but I hate how the bores get left to narrowly entertain as the moronic public get rid of anyone controversial.

Changing it to vote to save didn't even make much of a difference tbh. Even when it was vote to save nobody here was happy and everyone still bitched about it so I don't get what the fuss is.

The "I'll never watch again..." claims are starting early this season.

Erm no... plenty were happy about it.

I certainly was, Lydia (my favourite in BB13) would have gone in that first eviction with it, and Deana would have followed (only saving grace would have been that Irish **** going instantly) Alex or Louise would have won BB12 and Aaron would have been nowhere near the final (only saving grace would have been the Harry/Aaron/Faye/Jay eviction in which Jay would have gone) the Shannon Twins would have gone in CBB9 with Nicola over Sonia and Kirk (the best eviction since the move to C5) AND Speidi would have gone first, leaving us with the likes of Gillian and Tricia drinking tea all day.

While you may not like any of those I mentioned, they added to their series and with them all going early in a vote to evict, it'd have been a disaster.

So yes, I am pissed off that VTE is back, and 'fairer' is a load of bollocks, yay for more Luke A's in the final than necessary.

I'll watch until Sallie leaves. BBUSA will be on my then anyway. Unless I'm really bored. What ends up happening though is I don't watch the last 3 weeks or so, all the main charcaters are out by then.

What a ironic decision not good at all! And this voting split mid week is also ridiculous.

No, everyone still bitched about it because it wasn't a "proper" VTS with more than three people or whatever.

I don't understand how you can cite anything from BB12 and CBB11 as a VTS success given that those two series were the worst ever BECAUSE of Aaron and Speidi dominating the HLs. It's the biggest contradiction that those two series were atrocious but yet somehow Aaron and Speidi were two of the best HMs ever, when the series were only about them. And Deana will would've made it to the end in VTS given how psychotic her fanbase was.

I like the idea of VTE more - voting a HM out rather than trying to keep a HM in... in fact I think I was against VTS to begin with, but VTS really does work so much better in 3+ nominee evictions.

But in this scenario, because of the Wednesday freeze, the result would be the same.
