Gabz from Britain's Got Talent to release debut single
Quote:
It was the young stars on this year's Britain's Got Talent who were the biggest talking point as they stormed the stage - and caused differing views over whether they should be able to audition.
But while a child act missed out on winning the 2013 contest to adult shadow puppet act Attraction, there will be at least one success story from the younger auditionees.
It has now been announced that 14-year-old Gabz, who stunned with her vocal ability and songwriting skills, will be the first to release music following her time on this year's series.
The teenager is to release her debut single, Lighters (The One), which she had performed to high praise during one of her auditions.
She wrote the anthem herself and over 11 million viewers witnessed her perform it live to judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.
It's been a whirlwind for the young star, who became equally known for her love of onesies and baseball caps as she did her talent, since auditioning on the talent programme.
Last week she recorded the song in a London studio.
And she even enlisted producer Graham Stack to help create the final product - he has previously worked with the likes of Kylie Minogue, JLS and Girls Aloud.
Speaking of the single, Gabz said: 'I'm really excited about my single being released, I'm so happy, it's a dream come true!'
When she first performed the single on Britain's Got Talent she received warm feedback from all four judges.
And Simon Cowell seemed particularly taken with the performance.
He told the youngster: 'I think the song's a hit.'
Although she didn't win the show, Gabz did make it to some of the final rounds and eventually placed seventh in the competition.
