Done all of those

Stand By Me is a good suggestion too. I was never a fan of Uncle Buck ... ... She watched My Girl when she was 7, was traumatised by Thomas J's death, forgot she had seen it, watched it again last year, was devastated for a second time . |

Quand il pleut, il pleut

...All the Money in the World...... based on the kidnapping of one of J. Paul Getty’s grandsons...I read that Kevin Spacey was cast as the part originally and then obviously changed...Christopher Plummer was excellent, though ...he really did ‘become Getty’...and the pace kept the suspense all the way through...(...even though the outcome was obviously known...)...an enjoyable 7/10...

...they’ve always seemed like another family that have felt quite ‘cursed’... one of the grandsons died not long ago, I’m sure that I read...and another, a few years before that....

His House
I really liked this, I've never seen the plight of asylum seekers form the basis of a horror film before and it worked really well. I liked that the setting was miles away from the typical horror film set up and the threat was very interesting and quite unique. A good little horror film. 8/10 |

....such a powerful movie in humanising asylum seekers as well, Dezzy...and quite a few scary jumps...
....Hillbilly Elegy...Amy Adams and Glenn Close are two of my favourite actresses.......and it was very watchable with some great scenes from both of them...but somehow I didn’t quite connect with the characters in the way that I would have like to...6.5/10.. |

Jungle Book (Remake)
I never cared for the original animation but I liked this a lot, the story was stronger and more interesting and it's a stunning film to boot. It's far superior to the original, I thought. 9/10 |

Christmas Chronicles 2 2020
even better than the first one, also Kurt Russell/Goldie Hawn really make the best Santa and Mrs Clause such genuine emotional movie, makes it genuine because Kurt & Goldie are a real life couple as well score: 9.0/10 also had Malcolm McDowell as one of the elves

I’m gonna watch Mank later tonight/tomorrow and see what I make of it.
Seems to be already the Oscar 2021 front runner. |

..Private Life......such a well made movie but just so painful to watch as well...the whole lives of a couple being completely devoted to fertility treatments to get pregnant...very emotional and heartfelt and just agonising because so many couples will sadly live so many aspects of what we see in the movie and the strain on a relationship of two people who are so filled with love to give but are unable to give it...great performances from the two leads...8/10...

Ready or not. Far fetched funny thriller and the lead character looking so much like Margot Robbie but isn't Margot Robbie. But is still an aussie actress nonetheless. 8/10

Watching Lost in Translation on TV right now. I'm amazed every time, and this is probably my 5th time watching it.

...22 July...I went to watch a light Christmas movie but was somehow drawn to this one...although it shows the actual events at the beginning of the film...it’s mainly the aftermath of the Anders Behring Breivik killings in Norway ...the rebuilding of families and centred on one family/one particular victim who survived ...but how very changed his life was, physically and emotionally...incredibly harrowing, all of those lives so brutally prevented from being lived and children taken from their families en masse...it’s obviously a slaying that tore our hearts out and can’t in any way be described as an amazing movie because of the content...but it’s a very worthwhile watch...10/10...

The Green Mile (1999)
I’ve never seen this film before but I actually really enjoyed the story, I found it very consuming and the ending is really sad and there was one scene in particular as well that I did struggle to watch. I was surprised to see a supernatural element to this film. It was something I just wasn’t expecting (I never bothered to read the premise before I watched it) but the acting was amazing, Michael Clark Duncan did an awesome job. 9/10
