…Arkansas…..just another day in the office/or a working from home day for the drug dealers…it wasn’t a bad watch…very brutal and violent and everybody a bad guy but still an absorbing watch and excellent cast…7/10…

…Origin……outstanding journey/story of Isabel Wilkerson…the first African American woman to win a Pulitzer prize for journalism despite all of the personal sadness going on in her life through that time….a perfect cast as well..9/10…

…Dream Scenario……kind of a weird film, even for Nicholas Cage…(…who I love but can do very weird storylines/characters…it was so bad and so good at the same time…a horror/comedy…?…6.5/10…

Oh I watched this last night too (I have a Prime trial until the start of March )

Such a weird movie but I didn't hate it I'll give it a 6


Elevation - Typical Armageddon action type film but they had a new idea at least, it wasn't bad 6.5/10

…oh I watched Elevation recently as well, I loved the concept and thought that it would make a great series…/we scored the same……

…I think that you’ll like The Gorge as well if you have it available to watch…it’s so different in storyline…I liked it a lot……

I got a couple of Scorsese box sets from eBay for a tenner (five films in each) so I’ve started with one.

Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore (1974). I picked this to start because it seemed like it’d be an easy watch (and it was one I’d never heard of tbh). Good movie. Ellen Burstyn is the lead (she won the Oscar for Best Actress for this) as a woman who becomes widowed and moves away with her son to start again. Quirky, sweet sometimes heartbreaking little romantic drama.

…Kraven the Hunter…t’was ok for an origin story, it dragged a little but Russell Crowe added a bit of Russian pizzazz to raise it up a little bit…although he does look a bit, what the heck am I doing here at times …5/10-ish…

…Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End….…it was a low budget Spanish made movie about a guy and a small group of people trying to get to Tenerife and get off the main island…it was very classic zombie and actually not bad at all…just good ol’ honest to God zombies and the lead character transformed from being a lawyer to being a zombie assassinator very quickly…6.5/10…

Heretic 2024

May I say I was never a fan of Hugh Grant. He has played the same toff character with the floppy hair for decades.

Now he's old and grey and very wrinkled, he's turned his hand to horror films. This one Heretic gets rave reviews but even from the first few minutes I was bored by it. The dialogue is awful, contrived and the acting by the two girls, particularly the fair haired girl just got on my nerves.

So these two Mormon girls visit a weird old guy at his home in the hope of converting him to their religion. After the first five minutes I was so bored. It doesn't take an Eienstein to see where all this is going. A slow - so slow, very talkative load of codswallop. Not scary one bit. Boring, so boring.

I must say one hour was my limit. I didn't care what happened next. This movie sucked. And I don't know why it gets so many great reviews.

I didn't finish it but one hour was too much, I couldn't take any more. I did whiz through to the end and it turned out to be the usual tedious slasher stuff. Still boring.

…Unforgettable……a bit of a typical creepy ex-wife psychopath type storyline with no surprising bits but it still zipped along well and Katherine Heigl plays unhinged very well…5.5/10…

Us - I'm a bit late to the party on this one as my Brother watched it first, and my Dad liked the Director's other Film called Nope, so I was behind both of them on watching anything from this Director's Films (I just wish that I could remember his name lol.)

Anyway I really enjoyed the Film, it's very bizarre but in a way that I personally could click with really well.

I did guess the twist at the end though.

I felt similar with the 2004 Hellboy Film.

I preferred it's rival in Van Helsing personally, even if the terrible Internet connection stopped me from finishing it that night.

Magic Mike the last dance. Salma Hayek has got to be one of the worst actresses of all time. Tatum can move of course but he's also terrible.

I watched The Gorge, I did really like it, thanks for the recommendation, very different storyline and I like the 2 lead actors a lot 7/10

I don't know if this has been mentioned before....Colin Farrell is great in this, I loved it. A simple, often funny but rather tragic story. Beautiful scenery too...
