Default The Simpsons & Family Guy to have crossover episode

The Simpsons and Family Guy are to cross over next year, it has been announced.

An episode of the Seth MacFarlane cartoon - airing in the US in autumn 2014 - will see the Griffins going on a road trip to Springfield and meeting their yellow-skinned counterparts.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the two families will get along well, with Stewie impressed by Bart's pranks, and Marge and Lois bonding.

Homer, meanwhile, engages in debate with his new "albino" friend Peter regarding which beer is better, Pawtucket or Duff.

Fox has released 'quotes' from some of the characters, giving their thoughts on the upcoming episode, with Peter Griffin saying: "Fox hasn't spent this much money since they took Simon Cowell tight T-shirt shopping."

"Finally I can get my hands on this guy!" Homer Simpson commented.

Simpsons voice actors to appear include Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith and Hank Azaria.
