The X Factor 2013 start date has been confirmed for Saturday, August 31.
The show will launch at 8PM on the night, for a bumper 75 minute opening episode straight after the debut of ITV’s new ‘Strictly’ show Steppin’ Out.
As previously reported, the show will return the next day in a new double audition format.
The successful auditionees from Saturday’s show will be seen performing for an audience at their arena audition on Sunday’s show, which also airs at 8PM.
The X Factor returns this summer with a new look for its 10th series and welcomes Sharon Osbourne back to the judges’ desk in her first permanent role on the show since 2007.
Replacing Tulisa, she joins Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh (who recently announced this will be his final year) to search for the nation’s next singing sensation.
In a change to the usual format, The X Factor will be shown twice a week from the very beginning, with Saturdays initially dedicated to the closed room auditions that fans will remember from the first five years of the show. The most impressive acts then progress to Wembley Arena on Sundays to face their second performances in front of an audience of thousands.
