![]() Calvin Harris has been named the world's highest paid DJ, with earnings of $46 million (£29m) in the last 12 months. The 'Thinking About You' star placed ahead of touring partner Tiesto in the rankings, who brought in $32 million (£20m), according to Forbes. Harris recently made chart history when latest single 'Thinking About You' became his ninth UK Top 10 hit from his 18 Months album. Harris - who signed up for a residency at Las Vegas's Hakkasan nightclub earlier this year - reportedly brought in nightly fees in excess of $200,000 (£128,000). He topped the list as a result of his collaborations with the likes of Rihanna and LMFAO, as well as a sizeable publishing advance. Commenting on his success, Harris said: "The rise of dance music has been astronomical in the last three years. I happened to be in the right place at the right time." David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia and Deadmau5 also placed in the top five, in that order. Harris and Tiesto will embark on a joint tour of the UK and Ireland later this year, with dates scheduled in Manchester, London, Glasgow, Belfast and Dublin. Harris performed at Virgin Media V Festival over the weekend, alongside the likes of Kings of Leon, Beyoncé and Jessie J. Digital Spy That residency at Hakkasan has brought him in some serious money. |
