Lily Allen has announced her return to the music industry.

Over the last few weeks, the singer has been teasing fans with hints about her comeback, but today (August 30) she took to Twitter to unveil her new look website.

"Hello, im Lily Allen," she tweeted, before adding: "and, I'm coming back, bitches."

The star - who had stepped out of the spotlight in 2010 to focus on starting a family and to return to "normal" life - also changed her username on the social-networking site.

Previously known by her married name '@lilyrosecooper', the 28-year-old has switched back to '@lilyallen' and updated her bio to read: "I have been making babies, i have been making songs. Stand By..."



Allen has been working on the follow-up to 2009's It's Not Me, It's You since June 2012, but implied that the lead single from the as-yet-untitled LP won't be released until early next year.

The '22' singer has worked with Greg Kurstin and Naughty Boy on tracks for the collection, which will be her third solo release.

she's already done it I think the media have given up reporting her feuds now... that Lady GaGa tweet the other night would've been explosive were it 12 months ago

Oh I know. She was having a pop at her husband at one point when I read about it. Was the Lady GaGa thing about the mermaid tour?

nah, she tweeted 'on a scale of 1-10 how out of ideas is Lady GaGa?' whilst she was doing that iTunes performance

probably because her song with her, 'Ratchet' I think it was called, was dropped from GaGa's album

Oh right. Well I suppose as Azealia blabbed about the whole collaboration thing as per usual it serves her right. She should be used to it by now though with the likes of Baauer etc dropping her vocals. I bet Shystie raised a glass to that. #karma
