Really just posting this thread to see if there would be enough interest to justify creating a sub-forum within Creative Writing for an RPG (role play game) to be hosted on TiBB... I think perhaps the best idea would for it to be like a soap opera because it's hard to find a cross section of interests that would appeal to the majority, and doing a Big Brother RPG would be quite difficult because Big Brother revolves around eliminating people and an RPG should be an inclusive and expansive activity...

Basically the idea would be that there would be a character submission thread, where there would be a blank form like this:

Name:
Age:
Appearance:
Characteristics:
Summary of character's background:
Family members:
Occupation:

And some other stuff... and you would fill out this form with your proposed character and it would be verified as being okay. For appearance, if you envisage your character as being played by an actor/actress/well known public person/model, you should post their picture, because I've found that it really adds to the experience if you can imagine what the creator of the character intended you to imagine.

Once your character has been approved, you'd then be introduced to the RPG in a new thread that would revolve around your character and you would plan storylines with other RPG players... so there would be a Character Submission thread, an Off Topic Storyline Planner thread and then the in-game RPG threads where you would be responding to posts made by other people's characters. Normally you would post your character's thoughts and dialogue in a different colour so it's easy for people to spot who you are playing (e.g. if you had two RPG characters, it's easier to tell who you've just portrayed at a glance.)

What do people think? Would enough people be interested in this for me to request there's a sub forum? I'd also have a rotation system of "grand master" of the RPG, I think maybe change it every 2 months, and they would oversee proposed storylines to make sure there's nothing that contradicts or clashes with the overall theme of the RPG... we'd need some initial discussion to establish where and when our RPG is taking place, whoever is interested in signing up, so this is just a thread to suss out what people think...
