Default Nails

What type of nails do you have?

Do you have long nails? short nails? fake nails? extensions?

I have my own long nails, have never applied fake nails or had nails extension's done.

I had acrylic nails for years but took them off last year....my own nails are now weak and thin and won't grow no matter how much I look after them

I have acrylics, but its true Annie that having them weakens your own nails, they are really soft and flaky.

I have mine like this...

Prefer rounded tips to the squared off effect.

That's why I would never get it done, when I was at college we had tons of people that would complain about the state of their own nails and then just keep getting the acrylics done

If you burst a vitamin E capsule and massage the oil around the cuticles and the nail it should help them get stronger.

I wear gel polish most of the time.. It's a good way of growing your nails as the just don't crack or split when wearing it.

I managed to stop biting my nails in January, but my nails are still very weak and thin
That's a good tip about the capsule, I used to put one on my face will do my nails too.

I loved the look of acrylic nails, I had the squared off but I hated having them done, I hate having my hair done too....making small talk is my idea of hell

Josy, you should try gel polish if you like pretty coloured nails! And it lasts for weeks without a chip!

Take acidophilus to strengthen your nails - its a probiotic - i read that they give to cows - for a good gut and farmers noticed that the cows hoofs were growing faster and stronger - it works well ,mine are so hard and long now- obv you have to take long term as the strength comes up from nail bed , but i assure you it will work.

They're quite expensive... There are different types too. My sister used to have one that took 60 seconds per coat, but the one she uses now does it in 5 seconds. I think it was expensive though.

Do it josy.. You'll never look back!

My sister has just got mood polish in.. It changes colour with temperature so your nail bed is usually warmer than the tips so you get a two tone look. This is like the one I'm going for.. I think it's cracking!

I'm really not a nail person,I have them medium length and rarely polish them,I've had acrylics a couple of times for a special occasion ,but they annoy me so much.I'm much more fussy about my teeth than my nails.

Short nails, when I did nursing for a year you could never have them long so I've just fallen into the habit.
