Default How courageous are these people..

I saw this and it made me think how brave these people were. I have the utmost respect for their courageousness in trying to help others. I thought I would share:

This is Grace Brown, the 21-year-old founder of Project Unbreakable.

Two years ago, Grace began photographing survivors of sexual assault holding up posters on which they quoted their attackers.

Since its founding, the project has showcased over 2,000 survivors’ stories.

The only requirements are that submissions be nameless, and within quotation marks.

i would have thought hardly anyone would want to be reminded of something as awful as that never mind giving quotes, not saying this is a wrong thing for the Victims to do but it just seems really surreal

Very brave of them to do it, makes me feel a bit uncomfortable reading those quotes though.

I think it's very brave, I only hope it helps some being told things like the quotes shown to be strong enough to get help.

It might be almost therapeutic to be able to repeat these things.

Yes I suppose it could highlight how devious and depraved abusers are, some of the threats and lies, the victims will carry the memories of these words... I hope sharing them gives a sense of release.

If it helps the people who were photographed, and people who see them, who have suffered in the same way, then it's a good thing. It was up to them to come forward and do this, and I admire anyone for doing such a thing. It must have been really hard for them.

.. wouldn't it be interesting to see how 'courageous' the abusers are and have them hold up the signs of what they said...

The people still hiding behind the signs which shows just how difficult it it even in adulthood to speak about it as often it will be a family member or close family friend. Made me sad reading some of those, childhoods lost so someone could get their end away.

If anything this takes the stigma and the shame away , you would have to be very brave,
well done to them it's a very courageous thing to do.
