Quand il pleut, il pleut
|
The Vatican has been forced to withdraw commemorative medals commissioned to celebrate Pope Francis’ first year after misspelling Jesus. The coins, created by the Italian State Mint, had the Pope’s official motto printed around the side, but referred to Jesus as Lesus. Around four were sold before the mistake on the 6000 bronze, silver and gold medallions was pointed out. The Latin phrase translated into English means: "Jesus, therefore, saw the publican, and because he saw by having mercy and by choosing, He said to him , 'Follow me.'' This was “the quotation that moved the young Jorge Mario Bergoglio when he felt the call to the priesthood” reported Catholic Culture. It seems the devil is indeed in the detail. As news of the mistake travelled, social media users cracked jokes about this new religious figure, "Lesus" Christ. "I blame the Lesuits," went one tweet while another had "Let us prey Lesus'' Last edited by Ammi; 11-10-2013 at 07:03 PM. |
