After seeing those airline type shows, I would not wish that job on anyone. How do you keep calm?

I'm a super placid person in general tbh which helps a lot, but if a customer's being rude I'll just be short and sarcastic with them and take joy in the fact I pissed them off. :P

Great im on the coast and in South ****ing Wales. We have an amber warning for 80 mph winds plus.
If its true my living room windows are ****ed they are single glazing and are not being replaced to double glazing for 10 days plus I live on a tree lined street with lots of building work going on in most houses so bricks and debris everywhere. Its literally the worst possible situation! WTF shall I do about these windows thinking of just getting sheets and cardboard and just staple them over the inside. |

If it does get 80+ mph (which I doubt) the safest place you could be would be in your house. The danger will be to the people on the roads. The winds right now are 40mph here, and unless you look out the window you wont even notice it. |

The worst storm for more than five years is expected to arrive in the UK tonight.
Winds of up to 80mph are forecast, along with very heavy rain. The storm will develop over the Atlantic during the day and is expected to hit the south-west late tonight, before moving north-eastwards across England and southern Wales. It is already causing very rough seas along the south coast. Prime minister David Cameron has chaired a meeting with various government departments and agencies to co-ordinate a response. The extreme conditions could lead to severe flooding, disruption to travel networks, and fallen trees and power lines. Here is a round-up of all the latest on what is being called the 'St Jude storm', after the patron saint of lost causes, whose feast date is on Monday An amber warning, meaning "be prepared", has been issued for the southern half of England and the southern half of Wales. A yellow warning, meaning "be aware", applies to rest of Wales and England up to the border with Scotland Flooding The Environment Agency has warned of surface water flooding across most of England. Around 20-40mm of rain could fall within six to nine hours overnight.. A spokesman said: "We are supporting local authorities who will respond to any reports of surface water flooding. Seafronts, quaysides and jetties should be avoided due to the risk of overtopping by waves and wind-blown shingle." Winds The first strong winds are likely to hit south-west England on Sunday night, with gusts of 75-80mph. The storm is predicted to then move north-eastwards, with winds of 60-70mph in the Midlands and East Anglia. Northern England and North Wales could see winds of 50-60mph |
