I see no reason why not, some people are just naturally cheery and nice.

There are some people though who are just over the top patronisingly nice which makes you think something's not right. Multi faceted people.

I envy them. I'm working on being as consistently delighted with life as they are. It's something to aspire to. If someone doesn't trust or like that mentality then that's there problem, really.

People genuinely don't trust people that are constantly happy. They think they're fake or weird. If you don't have a bitchy bone you're not part of the homosapien race.

I don't trust people that are constantly loud and try to be centre of attention, like those people that feel the need to tell you how mad they are or how much they don't care what others think of them, those sorts would drop you in the **** if they thought they would get a few minutes attention from it.

I don't have a problem with happy or nice people though no...

Personally I was thinking of the kind of people who insist that the world is a wonderful place after their house has been destroyed in a hurricane when I responded to this thread. I don't like people who are over the top about anything, really.

i find the ones that seem always happy and outgoing tend to be the most unhappy undeneath

the creepy ones though who try to be overally nice well they creep me out lol

though i trust no one im too cynical l when it comes to people espec nice people .if a girl says she wants to come home with me i dont think ooooh im in woohoo i think hmm whats she up to does she want to rob me or she needs someone to crash lol

I don't know, you never know if it's genuine or not at first or if you're not close to them (for example, a few people in my class are like that but I rarely talk to them... so idk) but I don't think people could keep a nice act up every day of the week every week..

..ok, I’m probably over-thinking this but I agree with Josy...I think it’s quite sad that some people are suspicious/wary of anyone that they perceive to be ‘nice’....in my job, I guess I’m ‘programmed’ to see the best/strengths/great things in people, which everyone has...I also see flaws, of course but that’s not what I generally focus on because we all have those and are a balance and mixture in our personalities etc...it’s kind of a half full/half empty thing, I think...you can either ‘see’ the great stuff or ‘see’ the irritating stuff, either way it doesn’t matter because both things will be there... people will be the same no matter how you perceive them to be but for me, it’s a ‘no brainer’ to concentrate more on the great things in people....that doesn’t mean that it blinds me to the ‘irritating’ stuff either, I just don’t see the benefits of ‘pointing out’ things or contributing to people feeling bad about themselves in any way, I think we all pretty much do a good enough job of feeling like that on our own, without anyone else’s help...but I do think that because humans often don't see the great things in themselves and are too self-critical generally, it's a good thing to tell people when you think they're pretty amazing...

I don't think it's a case of being negative or cynical, I see it as being quite astute to use your instincts to guide you. It's quite natural to be wary when
some display behaviours that are false. Intuitively it puts your hackles up when you percieve fake emotions / friendship/ concern masquerading as genuine on any level.
I wouldn't ever be gullible enough to take someone at face value, however if someone is genuinely happy it shines out.

I always try to see the good in people, I don't hate that people are happy around me I'm glad they are happy. I just don't like it when people are over the top nice to me because it doesn't seem genuine, from past experience it sometimes hasn't been. I'm probably too nice to people sometimes though..
