Be it for Xmas/birthday/whatever, are they actually what you wanted or do you wonder what bizarre images you're projecting of yourself to friends and family?

Usually I get things I like but there have been some odd gifts over the last couple of years.
While at Uni, once a relative bought me a pack of 12 cans of baked beans???
I hate baked beans so I was puzzled at that as a gift and haven't a clue as to how they arrived at that as a present.

always generic football inspired presents from my extended family because I'm pigeon holed like that

My family though, know me a bit better enough to just get me vouchers because I'll never be happy with anything

With my mum I always know what it is because she asks me what I want but with others I either get funny-jokey presents (a princess magazine from my housemate for my birthday, for example) or nice surprises (Bowie stuff, the odd after shave, bottle of wine). I can't remember the last really bad gift I got.

I don't ever get presents from anybody I know in real life, except my boyfriend, and he knows well enough what I like.

I know, I never eat them, it was one of those shrink wrapped packs of 12 tins of them.

..I always like everything I get or most things but I do seem to get a lot of 'girly' stuff and I'm not really girly at all but people seem to think I am..I like the stuff though...

..I do get lots of chocolates...(not necessarily Galaxy though..)..mostly from the children at school...

I always tend to get something I need or a nice surprise that I will use and not just leave around the house gathering dust.

My mother and sister in law have a knack of picking up the tiniest things you mention throughout the year though and somehow remember when it comes to xmas or birthdays.
