Daily Record's Big Brother Awards 2006
Quote:
Here are the Daily Record's Big Brother Awards 2006 - to celebrate the 10 maddest, funniest and most shocking moments of the series.
1. Best entrance
Nikki - She went on to prove herself obnoxious, child-like and totally nuts, but her entrance in the Playboy bunny outfit was just the start of her reign as the attention-seeking queen of the house and proved as apt as it was bizarre.
2. Most boring housemate
Sam - The Ayrshire transsexual didn't do much more than offer a permanent awkward smile and nod during her brief time on the show.
3. Most fun housemate
Richard - He looked like one of the self-proclaimed extroverts who end up being intensely dull, but Richard has been a real driving force in the show. Only he and Nikki have shown us any real spark and, even if he doesn't win, he has at least been good value.
4. Best BB snog
Glyn and Lea - With no real love affairs this year, only the Pete/Nikki and Mikey/Grace schoolyard crushes, it was left to the BB staple of Spin the Bottle to provide the car crash lust. Porn actress Lea, 35, orally attacked poor teenage lifeguard Glyn, who looked like a rabbit in the surgically enhanced headlights. He said it was the best night of his life.
5. Best BB fight.
Richard and Sezer - Nothing on the battles of previous years, but they almost came to blows when Richard insulted Sezer's pal Imogen as "dull, plastic and ordinary". The gay Canadian waiter and sleazy Sezer stopped short of contact.
6. Most surprising housemate
Glyn - The Welsh lifeguard entered the house as a dumb teenager in his swimming trunks and, although we all expected him to get the heave, he actually developed into a real character in the house and would be a worthy winner.
7. Most disappointing
Pete - He's been the favourite from day one and seems like a nice guy, but apart from his Tourette's disability playing up now and again, has done nothing in the house apart from have a terrible haircut and attract all the women.
8. Best task
Burpathon - At the same time funny and appalling, this represented the moment TV officially entered the gutter or was one of the most hilarious sights you've ever seen. The fact that the reward was a children's tea party was also the most fitting task reward ever handed out.
9. Best quote.
Nikki - Returning to the house last week to meet Pete again: "It's like having my first orgasm".
10. Best twist
The Golden Ticket housemate - Susie's introduction by winning a random place in the show following a Kitkat promotion really turned the house upside down. The irony was that she was one of the dullest housemates ever, but it sent the bitching into overdrive.
7-2 AISLEYNE
Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, 27, has been a surprise hit in the house.
The model has grown in popularity after coming in to the house as a late arrival. Despite spats with Lea, Nikki and Grace, Aisleyne is now an outside bet for the prize.
1-3 PETE
Singer Pete Stephenson has been the hot favourite from the start.
Pete, 24, from London, has Tourette's syndrome and is a favourite of most of the women in the house. He currently claims to be loved up with Nikki.
6-1 GLYN
Lifeguard Glyn Wise, 18, is the dark horse for the Big Brother title tonight.
Originally from north Wales, Glyn has won over a legion of fans during his time in the show.
He will be told he has passed his A-Levels after leaving the house.
150-1 JENNIE
As the last survivor from the secret house, Jennie Corner has failed to make an impact in the house.
The 18-year-old from Liverpool made it to the final after completing a task last week.
She has little chance of winning and is seen as an inoffensive housemate.
50-1 NIKKI
The queen of tantrums Nikki Grahame, 24, has the chance to win the £100,000 prize after the public voted her back into the house last week.
The promotions girl from Middlesex made her name by screaming and throwing fits.
40-1 RICHARD
Camp waiter Richard Newman has been popular with the public throughout the series.
The London-based Canadian, 33, made it to the final by surviving several eviction votes.
