The Only Way Is Essex star, 24, up for eviction tomorrow night, was rushed out of the Celebrity Big Brother house to see doctors when the mystery illness struck.

Insiders said her alarming symptoms, and the speed with which her face became swollen, suggested she had experienced an allergic reaction to something.

Sam had first complained of feeling sick and then, to her horror, gunk started pouring from her nose.

A show source said: “The poor girl looked like something from a horror movie, like an alien.

“She is so used to looking sexy and glam that she was really shaken up, and so were the other housemates.

When TV bosses spotted the reality TV beauty in distress, she was taken out to see a doctor and examined.

At first it was thought she would have to be taken to hospital, but the reaction showed signs of stabilising.

Sam was monitored for some time and given a dose of anti-allergy medication before being allowed back in. A medical team are now on standby to take her out at a moment’s notice.



Sam told fellow housemates she had been terrified by the experience, and said: “This has come from my nose and spread into my face. They’ve given me a dressing too.”

Last night a Channel 5 spokesman confirmed Sam had received treatment. The babe, who has already had health problems in the house with an upset stomach, is up for eviction along with comic Jim Davidson, 60, and journalist Liz Jones, 55.

Her nomination caused a big row in the house as everyone likes her.

When the gang were shown the nominations on a video screen, they discovered she only had two votes – and they came from Jim and Liz.

Both celebrities were accused of tactical voting.

The others claimed they picked on a “safe” housemate like Sam because they do not think she will get the chop.

But there is no guarantee their plan will work. In the past viewers who think a celebrity is safe do not bother voting and they end up being evicted.

Made In Chelsea star Ollie Locke, 27, who has become good friends with Sam, said: “I’d be gutted if she left.”

Maybe the housemates were so over the top annoyed about Sam being nominated lastnight because of this happening to her and her previous issue of not feeling well during the week?? If the housemates really have serious medical issues though, why don't the producers take them out of the house ASAP?
