Maybe not censored, but a similar rating system to movies would be handy. The problem is enforcing something like that.

Yes. But it would be nearly impossible and I think morally wrong to censor sites after all this time. Its a problem that I dont see an answer to.

No. Improve adult filters for those not wanting children to see porn etc.

It'd take away what consenting adults can see and do.

No

Say it time and time again, filters for children are easy to set up for parents, and a kid isn't going to crack a password

Unfortunately within the next year or so the government are going to get away with full scale censorship/spying under the pretense of this censorship of pornography thingy

The internet in 3-4 years time..I dread to think what it will be like

and the whole ''if you've got nothing to hide you've got nothing to fear'' thing..

Well no one likes someone who stares at you while you eat do you? Even if you're not committing any crimes it's still not nice being watched all the time

Cameron's internet porn filter will apparently be in every home in the UK by the end of this year unless you opt in.

And they're not even notifying people directly are they...it's not even about the porn directly it's just the precedent it sets.. They'll extend it to all sorts of stuff

And they know there will be no widespread condemnation about it either because people will be too embarrassed to admit they wath porn. It's just another thing they're bringing in for easy votes from parents at the next election

*I think there should be improved report mechanisms on sites but widespread policing and censorship? Never

Bet Cameron watches porn. He's got a filthy look about him.

Definitely agree on the report mechanisms. It's very poor in general.

What an amazing strong point, great example Nathan.

I agree and say no too. I am not really in favour of censorship.

nothing should be censored ever. not the net not forums not anywhere. there is far too much censorship as it is.
far to many of our rights and freedom of speech is being restricted

It definitely needs to be better regulated and it's been happening over the last couple of years and will continue to do so in the future. There's a lot of investment dedicated to cyber security and online crimes are now being punished by courts in the UK... so we're getting there. There does need to be a line that the government can't cross though. I think if people had to input passport, national insurance or driving licence details to access age restricted material (and no, I don't just mean pornography) people wouldn't want to access those things at all and people might argue that's a bit Big Brother is watching... but at least it's a way of tracking who's doing what - and then parents could keep something like a National Insurance Number away from their kids until they get to an age where they need it (e.g. applying for their first job) which means kids aren't getting the chance to access adult stuff until they're at least 16 years old.

A lot of flaws with that idea but it's rudimentary of course... I just think the open season on the internet has come to an end and people don't like it because they're too used to it being like the Wild West of the modern era where anything goes and nobody's accountable for anything because it's online and it's not "real"...
