It so did, and what a misleading load of rhetoric it was too... 5000 people only that have been unfairly charged that have been exempt from 1996?... LIES!
It's 1000s more than that.

Far too rushed a programme but what a pity this Govt won't listen to even its own Councillors, such as the one that predicts this will be damaging electorally in 2015.

The daft thing should be scrapped, it should never have been put forward and the thing I am most annoyed at in this programme was the Lib Dems getting off near completely.
There couldn't have been any introduction of this 'bedroom charge/tax' had they voted against it.

For the Conservatives at least, they would be satisfying most of their voters of the 36% that voted for them in 2010 with this type of policy, however the Lib Dems would be satisfying virtually none of the voters who voted for them in 2010 by supporting this policy.

Absolutely a mad policy and a badly thought out too. Total incompetence.

I'm meant to pay this bedroom tax now as I get housing benefit. Havent paid a penny of it and am now in arrears. Not too concerned as IF labour do get rid of it I think the arrears would be wiped, but if you have paid it you wouldnt get a refund. They can threaten to chuck me out all they like tbh, it would cost them more to do that than to just let £200 arrears slide. Also there are now FIVE 3 bed places in my street with noone in them. People who have moved since the BT came in, so where are these larger sardine families who were in desperate need of housing eh?

Latest from Rachel Reeves...
'Motion on abolishing the bedroom tax won by 226-1. But need government to allocate time to be able to get a second reading. Fight continues'.
