Default help

Why is my new non-stick pan sticking? I tried to do pancakes like 3 times today and they all turned into a mess, I bought this pan especially for pancake day and it's ruined everything

Did I buy the wrong pan? I made eggs in it before and they were fine and didn't stick, it's not scratched at all because I've been using a wooden spoon

Take the pan back if it's a new one, they should replace it surely.

They can if it's sticking, how would they know it was sticking in the first place if they never used it?

Anyway it can't be the pan Germyle said they cooked eggs on it and all was fine, I still think it's been the heat turned up too high or like Kizzy said use some butter/oil (I thought they would have done that anyway)

I agree and when I make pancakes even doing that the first one is always a mess.

I will try the butter technique in the morning and put it on lower, if that fails then I'll buy another pan. thanks for (some of) your suggestions

Sounds like the pan just needs oiling up a bit

..you have to heat the pan up really hot first as well Germyle..but then not so hot when you're cooking them so they burn on the outside etc...I put oil in my pan as well but then wipe it all straight out before I cook the pancakes...but yeah, a reaaly hot pan is kind of the thing, I hope you have lovely pancake Wednesday...

pancakes are tough to make in any kind of pan. I've never done it successfully.

It's probably better to just get a waffle maker, it's hard to screw up waffles.

Most of us only eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday Alex, and not generally as one of our five a day.

Tell it you'll leave it for a slimmer, younger, more attractive pan until it does it properly.
