Default Cameron blasted over waitrose comments

This sums up what a complete stuck up twat this guy is

http://news.uk.msn.com/uk/cameron-st...-over-waitrose

Labour has branded David Cameron "stuck-up" and "empty-headed" after he praised Waitrose for attracting the best grade of customer.

The Prime Minister gave his views on "supermarket sociology" as he visited a store run by parent company John Lewis in Cheadle, near Manchester.

"I have got a piece of supermarket sociology, which is that there is something about Waitrose customers ... they are the most talkative," Mr Cameron reportedly told staff yesterday.

"I found that if I shop in Waitrose it takes me about twice as long as everyone wants to stop you and have a chat. Whereas in other supermarkets I find I can dart round very quickly and get everything.

"It is something about your customers, they are very talkative, engaged people."

Mr Cameron revealed that he shops at Waitrose - regarded as a favourite of the middle classes - whenever possible. He uses Ocado - another firm catering to the higher end of the market - to deliver goods to Downing Street.

However, he said he went to Sainsbury's near his constituency home in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, "because there isn't a Waitrose".

The comments drew a personal attack from shadow Cabinet Office minister Michael Dugher.

"Families are on average £1,600 a year worse off since David Cameron became Prime Minister," he said.

"Most families understandably have to shop around and watch every penny because of the cost-of-living crisis, plus very many people increasingly have to rely on food banks.

"This is a world away from that of David Cameron.

"There's nothing wrong enjoying shopping at Waitrose. But Cameron seems to be saying that at Waitrose you get a better class of shopper.

"This is a bizarre and empty-headed intervention from a Prime Minister who increasingly gives the impression of being stuck-up and out of touch."

Because the other supermarkets are full of people trying to find the best way to feed their kids on a pittance perchance?

I expect Miliband schleps round Aldi every Saturday. Or..... not.

Didn't Cherie Blair once, way back when her old man was Prime Minister, come out as a Waitrose customer? Was it okay back then?

I don't think people are taking issue with the fact that he shops at Waitrose, more the apparent implication that "better people"(?) shop there. I'm not entirely convinced that that is the implication of what he was saying, to be fair - I doubt he actually gave it much thought and it was a bit of a throw-away comment.

...I mean, he probably does have a better experience at Waitrose than at other supermarkets. Waitrose is stupidly overpriced (not just reflective of quality - branded products cost more for some reason...) and therefore I can only imagine that the people who still shop there are those who are unaffected by the recession and therefore are probably Tories anyway, keen to shake Dave's hand, or give him a cheeky blowjob down the Caviar isle, or whatever.

Whereas his experience in other supermarkets is more akin to a warzone; dodging angrily hurled chicken nuggets and risking concussion from flying ready-meals.

The last time he went to Lidl, an immigrant tried to beat him to death with a frozen chunk of beef. A cheap silverside, too. Blergh!

Dont really see whats wrong with what he said tbh.

I'm certainly not offended, I think its ridiculous that strangers apparently all stop and speak to each other while doing their shopping in a certain supermarket

I really think there is some straw clutching going on here....nothing better to diss him on than him saying nice things about where he shops.

surely the fact that he's oh, I dunno, the ****ing prime minister probably explains why people stop to talk to him anyway?

i know if i glanced at him where i shop (asda, tesco, sainsburys) i'd just avoid eye contact and move to another aisle. waitrose, i'm sure, is full of daft old folk who think his shiny face is endearing.

LOL I was thinking this. Those who shop at waitrose regularly are more likely to be well off...so the average (not all..but the core vote is rich and pensioners) tory voter. Whereas those scrimping in tescos and asda (me included) are so much worse off from his policies they would be more likely to twat him one than give a pleasant hello
