Default Medication

Potential side effects get their own section on the leaflet that comes with medicines, but has anyone actually had any negative experiences with them or found them to not work...?

Fluoxetine didnt work for me

Never really had any side effects from medication. And most of the labels have exactly the same ones written on too..I think they are just covering their backs really

Fluoxetine didn't work out for me either. The anti-depressants I'm now on work better but it's annoying having to take other stuff as well for the same type of thing. :/

Honestly, they tried me on loads of different antidepressants, and I have since found out that the best one for me...is codeine. Despite not being an antidepressant, it works better than them all

Citalopram gave me MAJOR mood swings. It was really awful. Was only on it a couple of weeks too.

No really bad experiences personally.
Hubby on the other hand is just about to finish his 10th course of antibiotics since November, first course was a 6 week one. Turns out they have been making him worse as he is allergic to penicillin, would not be so bad but 4 different doctors were shown his rash and told he could not sleep for the irritation.
Sorted out in the end...back at work in about three weeks hopefully.

Roaccutane made me suicidal and depressed, I had to fill out a form before I started taking it asking if I'd ever been suicidal or depressed before, I can see why

Yeah, the first week or two are usually the worst but the initial reactions tend to subside after a while. Xanax gave me the shakes and that for a while after I started them.

Xanax isn't available on the NHS, I'm on beta blockers for anxiety.
