Default Chocolates/Gifts

When someone gives you chocolates like, Roses, Quality street etc as a gift do you eat them?

I eat maybe one or two out of the box then the rest tends to get left so when people buy them for me I feel guilty knowing they will probably end up in the bin, the worst thing is a lot of people buy them for me..

I still have 4 large boxes (the big round ones) unopened since xmas, 1 opened and then I got a ton more as birthday gifts on Friday, what can I do with all these chocolates????????

I only actually like a few in any box of chocolates, and end up binning them if they are unwrapped ones, like in dairy box or something. If they are wrapped, like roses and quality street I bag them all up and drop them in at the nursing home down the road every now and then.

Do you have any Schools near you? donate them to them for their Summer Fayre, I think you have nieces? give them to them to use as Gifts for their teachers, take them to your local hospital for the staff? don't throw them in the bin, someone has gone out and spent their money buying them for you, at least let them be eaten by someone if not you.

Yeah same here,

I already took a box into the clinic where my dad is for the people in there and I gave my mother in law some a couple of weeks ago to take into her work, she works in like a sheltered housing complex for elderly people.

I even try to get rid of them by putting a handful in a bowl and sitting them next to the biscuits when I have any visitors in but nope, no one wants them

Yeah that's why I don't want to just bin them

I might take some to the school, never thought of that actually.

you could always give them to your family/friends as gifts, that's usually what I do with things I don't want.

I actually have done that once or twice, gave it along with another gift as something extra, but I'm always paranoid in case I give the same gift back to the person that gave me it

yeah that's the only problem, if it's just a normal box of chocolates or something though you could have easily bought them anyway.

..no, I usually take most of the Christmas chocolates to work in January, in the staffroom they last around two hours but you could always take them to your local children's hospital ward or home for the elderly, I'm sure they would love them..maybe not the hard toffee ones because their teeth might fall out..?..

..teachers have far too much chocolate, Cherie....at our school anyway/you would put on weight just looking at the staffroom most days...
