[The residents of England's windswept, wave-lashed southwest are Europe's newest official minority.
The British government said Thursday Cornish people have been given the same status as Scots, Welsh and
Irish — the U.K.'s other Celtic peoples — under EU law protecting national minorities.
Residents of Cornwall traditionally spoke a Celtic language similar to that of France's Brittany region.
Cornwall is famous for its seafaring heritage and for the Cornish pasty, a popular lunch food.]

My apologies in advance to anyone from Cornwall but in my view this is ridiculous.
The others,Scotland,Ireland and Wales are wholly different countries, Cornwall is just part of England no matter what it may think it is or hope to be.

This pampering of places gets on my nerves.

They are different, they are Celts like the Scots and Welsh and the Irish. The wave of effectively Germans has swept into England and banished the indigenous population to the Western edges.
