Do you believe that there is a certain fate set out for you? Is there some kind of planning in the events in your life? Will life really reward you if you do your utmost to be a good person? Will you be struck down with bad luck if you make bad choices? When someone dies is it really "their time"?

I threw a rolled up sock across the room to scare the cat the other day and it went down the side of my mums bed and she wasn't pleased at all, i had to pull everything out that was under it and began crawling under to find my sock.. whilst i was under there i found a bracelet my mum had lost a while ago hidden away in between two boxes. She said my sock went under there for a reason so it must be true.

Nope, I believe that the world and our lives are full of random events, or just events, and we form patterns or links between one happening and another to try and make sense of it.

Being a good person won't mean good things will occur in your life to reward you in someway, but I think it means you have a better chance of having like minded and equally good-natured people in your life.

Also I think when someone dies around around 100 years old, that's kinda natural and in a way their time. But if someone gets run over by a car in their 20s, then no, they weren't naturally supposed to die then.

I remember losing sight of a spider in my room several months back. I was basically crapping myself for a good half hour after it ran away from me. As I'm about to go to bed I knock a book over and the spider came out. I then killed the little twat.

I think that happened for a reason. Otherwise I'd of been crapping myself for days after.

...hmmm, for me I think this is kind of a 'reflective' thing or a 'wait and see' thing..at the time we make choices in our lives or maybe something bad and out of our control happens in our lives, we make decisions and follow them..they then lead to other decisions and happenings etc and so it goes on...through those decisions there can be lots of good things or lots of bad things happen and it's easy to either feel pleased you made that decision or think ughhh, that was a bad choice...but for most of those decisions, it doesn't actually really matter, there are no good or bad ones, it's more that every choice in life will lead you somewhere and lead you to positive and negative things because that's really just what life is..and I guess depending on the person you are/your character etc..your mind can either 'pick out' the bad stuff and say ughh, those were all bad choices or pick out the good things and think yeah, that's all not been too bad actually, I did ok...so yeah, I think there are potentially many paths we can follow and on all of them there will be a mixture of stuff and potentially something that was 'meant to be' and we can either run with that or move on to the next one/take another path etc...and follow that 'fate', just one of many fates available to us...

I like to think so, even if the reason is just to keep being positive in the face of adversity. You can always find a reason for why something has/hasn't happened to you, doesn't necessarily make those reasons valid but I think it's nice to believe that everything happens for a reason. You are what you make of your life.

..yeah I think that's it though, I always say things happen for a reason but they don't as such, it's more that we 'take the reasons'/positives/opportunities etc from the things that happen to us....I knew there was a shorter way of writing it..

Yeah and at the end of the day I think it probably helps me to sleep at night if I can try and (illogically) find some logic in why something has or hasn't happened. I'd rather believe that there was a positive outcome from being assaulted last year, for example, than just accept that it was random and rubbish and that's just what my life is. I mean after that happened I felt compelled to make changes in my life and be adventurous and do scarier things in order to push myself out of my comfort zone to be happier and not be afraid. Would I have signed up to do a two week summer course in Russia or be motivated to lose weight without that happening? Possibly; but I know that because of that incident I wanted to make changes and that's why I made those decisions. So yes, I believe everything happens and then you give it a reason... that makes more sense I think.

..yeah, I think with regards to your attack..?..I know with my son and the whole experience, it kind of gradually lead down a path of a few things happening which lead to him travelling and spending some 'time out' doing what he wanted to do and making some decisions etc and that probably wouldn't have happened if not for the attack, I know that it's ok saying that because he's ok and if he had not been, then it would have lead to a different 'chain'...and maybe he would have done all he has done since anyway but maybe it's just a 'making sense of things' thing that we can think that something positive came out of it....but I do think that you can kind of 'put things into place' and move forward from certain bad things more easily if you do think like that...

everything is fate. the key roadblocks and important things are all written. everything else is just us running around like headless chickens just to end up where we were heading anyway.
being good wont effect anything or being bad. what is written so shall it be said.

i have yet to see a future that surprised me that was not forseen .
