Default What kind of job do you have?

As an ex-nursery assistant and now a teaching assistant, I'm so happy I've changed jobs... its been a while since I've spoken to you guys about what jobs we all do. Obviously if you're a student or unemployed then gtafo!!!11111111

(jk)

but no, do tell... do you like your job? would you rather work somewhere else? or if you dont work, would you like to work?

the working world is facinating cause there's so many of us here on tibb, yet I bet hardly any of us have the same jobs...

Well its not my ideal job but the hours suit me as I can work what hours I want. I work partly for an agency and partly for myself cleaning peoples houses. Do I enjoy it? yes id say I do actually its always good when your finished a house and its sparkling clean and smelling lovely and fresh. Ive had many jobs over the years mainly shop work, pub work, factory work and cleaning. Ive been a manageress of a newsagents, a supervisor in a daytime restaurant. Ive worked on bandsaws, ban knifes and stuff in factories quite a mix of everything. My ideal job Id say would be writing for a paper or magazine.

aww that's good of you to admit... there's such an awful stigma about cleaners but I think its a really good job. you get to choose your own hours and a lot of the time its really good pay. I've been tempted to clean a few peoples houses (they advertise someone to clean on fb) and nearly got to clean an empty apartment but someone else beat me to the job... I was actually excited to do it too lmao. I find it a little therapeutic.

saying that, i have the messiest room to ever exist.

Self Employed Digital Designer

Yes I do enjoy it, I can basically work when I want and take holidays when I want and the moneys good but it can get a bit boring at times especially since I'm at home all day.

I'm looking for something else atm though and if I find something that interests me I will still design but for less hours.

Account Manager in Recruitment...

I like it as its rewarding when you get someone a job but it's bloody frustrating too.

I'm a student but looking for a part time job, especially important since the summer is coming and I'd love to be productive. It's just such a task searching and searching to no avail.

Still a DJ (briefly..), but realistically going to have to give up work totally when this baby comes. Its hard enough getting a sitter for one, nevermind 2

A recruitment agency....many specialise in short term temporary work. I have students who return each holiday break. It adds skills and experience to your Cv too...the agency I work for specialises in office work, but there are retail agencies etc too

I don't currently have a job but I've had a few in the past, at the moment my situation is not ideal but it's just how things have to be at the moment. My mother is 49 and has had two hip replacements, she also has pulmonary fibrosis, severe asthma, sleep apnoea and frequent panic attacks. So at the moment she is depending on me, eventually she might move in with her boyfriend which is close to where my sister lives but for the short term I am stuck here. I plan to leave Ireland as soon as I can when this situation is sorted out. I have contacts in Portugal and would possibly go into PR once I perfect the language.

I'm currently signed off sick by the doctor for personal reasons. I was employed but my place of work has gone out of business since I was signed off so I'll be looking again at some point.

It pisses me off to the eyeballs to be even remotely considered or referred to as a scrounger when I have worked FULL time my entire working life since leaving school consistently without a break until 3 years ago (when I, along with others, was made redundant) went part time for three years when I had my child, then back to full time again.

So I've more than contributed to taxes etc for others out of work through no fault of their own and don't begrudge them it, and when I was on Jobseekers I was constantly applying for jobs, going on courses, doing a bit of volunteering here and there.

And yet again I feel like I have to justify myself

Is this directed at me?

If so you didn't need to answer the question if it upsets you...

I don't work, never intend to work again either.
I decided to be a lady of leisure a good few years back, so I am now a kept woman.
Kept by the hubby mind, not the state.

Must have worked hard and long at some point as the government have informed me I have earned a full pension when my time comes
