I'm deeply saddened by this news as i've been a huge fan of his work for many years. He died after a fall down a flight of stairs at his home in Gruyere Switzerland, aged 74.
He was a rather reclusive bloke but a very good friend of mine who knows the guy who works as his art agent had very kindly arranged with Giger for us to visit him at his home (which is AMAZING!!!!) in Switzerland later this year. I'm so gutted that this will never happen now. It would have been a trip of a lifetime! ![]() Most people are probably aware of him but he's best known probably for the fact that he did the original creature designs for the film 'ALIEN' and it's sequel. Here's a news report that goes into a bit more detail about the great man! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-27390345 |

Saw some of his art on the ALIEN special features, it's eerie as feck.
Still I'm chuffed he was inspiration for two of my favourite movies of all time ALIEN and ALIENS. R.I.P |
