I'm Italian so we have Italian TV in the house too. I haven't been able to watch any of the current series of BB (it is the 4th edition of the Celeb version), Grande Fratello VIP 4.
I watched last nights show as i had nothing else to watch (and the fact that most of it has been on during Love Island and I was watching LI this series), but makes me think of culture differences in different countries. Being Italian, I know that I mainly live by slightly different things as the UK. But one thing as we live in the UK, that me and the family don't really follow is being very religious. It is odd. My mum is one of 9 and half of her family live over there and half here. The ones here are not that religious and the ones over there are extremely religious. Everyone there has statues of Mary, portraits of biblical figures, but all my family here doesn't. Anyway back to Italian BB. This means that religious speech is very controversial here. Lets compare to something that Helen said to Danielle in BB15 about "shagging" you know who. Saying that in a Italian reality show, would not only get you kicked out ASAP, but you would be one of the most hated people in the country. Throughout the many years of Italian BB, the big % of ejectees have been due to this sort of speak. A thing you should NEVER say translates to "God is a dog" which is a bad way of saying "ffs" basically n a conversation. To make it acceptable you need to say "Uncle is a dog" or "Pig dog", doesn't make sense when translated but it is another way of saying FFS. The bad way is the first thing I said. That is a no-no. Last night someone was ejected for using a reference regarding the Mafia. Whereas there has been a couple times where HMs have run towards HMs and threatened them with violence or thrown glass at each other, with no consequences. Has anyone watched any other BB's (not USA, Canada or Australia as they most likely adhere to the same sort of acceptance rules as UK) where you have seen something that either would never be treated as harshly, or something that they let go which they wouldn't here? |

Hello hope you are well seems Italian BB might be the safest place for them atm
I've never agreed with the way the situation in BB5 known as 'fight night' played out. That was a very tribal situation and from the off the two main male characters were acting very domineering and aggressive, them not being removed was for me the worst decision in BB history.

Even the backup BB Italy studio they're using instead of the main studio is better than anything we've seen here or in the US previously.
Amazed though it's still going.

i haven't seen it
however i did see bits of a talent show in Italy, which still went on despite covid pandemic, of course no audience, and i saw the crew with face masks, and also backing dancers with face masks, very innovatively adjusted into any performances, more like dressing them as doctors too one act idk the name of the show but it seems a quite famous talent show there in Italy
