At least it's staying steady around the 1 million mark. Shows that there is a dedicated audience around. Just gotta hope it stays like that and we don't see a severe drop in a week or two.

I imagine the Big Brother: Armageddon thing in the next two weeks will help boost ratings and bring back a number of viewers from the World Cup.. Seeing as it begins right as the footie ends!

On another note, I thought it should be worth mentioning that although the previous ratings have been pretty poor, a share of 5.5% is still fairly good.

In March and April Channel 5s monthly share was just 3.7%.. In May it was 3.8% and with both BB, BOTS, The Hotel Inspector, The Dog Rescuers and their somewhat popular Sunday movies I imagine all will help the channel increase it's share.. Hopefully up nearly a full 1%!

Therefore although ratings are poor for BB, I thought it should be clarified that they are certainly not bad for the channel!

Its a tired concept simple as that, civilian bb not CBB that is. I like civilian better than celeb but I can see why the ratings arent there.

Evictions used to get higher ratings that highlights shows and now they dont and civilian bb used to get more viewers than CBB but now the trend has reversed.

I think that is telling, on Channel 5 there isnt the public fascination with the civillians but there is with the celebs, civillians are no longer celebs in their own right just by being on the show.

When it first started it was a fascination and now people know what to expect and when you think about it there is only so much people can do in a secluded house year and year.

Big brother is not a tired concept, it should do well capturing pepoles imagination, it feeds well for things like twitter, just the wrong people have controll of the show, there should be shocks like pregnant housemates giveing births and subjects that pick up on the real day to day issues in life, but all we have is an ediited hot mess of an hour that comes across as towie **** so ofcourse its not going to do well, if there was live feed #bbuklive would trend the full 12 weeks, channel 5 dont know what to do with big brother, they never have done, and they never will, and its ashame cause we know that things could be so much better if they went down the whole socail experiment route but we'll never know cause it wasent tryed.

1.2 million for last night inc. +1 with an overall share of 7.5%, the rating is fair, but the share is pretty good!

It's double Channel 5s three month share from March to May of 3.7%

It came third in its timeslot.. Beating a C4 repeat of 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown with 989,000 viewers and a 5.6% share and BBC Two with Matt Le Blanc show Episodes, which drew 680,000 and a 3.8% share.

At the same time, BBC One had a share of just 16.6% and 2.1 million viewers.

So to summarise, a fairly lowly watched night, nonetheless BB stayed competitive with competition and did much better than on previous nights in terms of its share.

Not bad. It deserved good ratings last night as the task is a good one.

That's a good share since its been getting around 4.5% to 6.5% recently.

Maybe it will pick up tonight seeing as last night was a good episode.

Last night seemed to strike poor with other channels. C4 got 5.6% and BBC Two got 3.8% so it's great to see BB double BBC Twos average and obliterated C4! Which is much deserved!

I'm happy with it coming 3rd in it's slot - and doubly happy when it beats channel 4

It's also a pretty big feat, the fact that 3rd out of 5th is quite common for BB and CBB, something Channel 5 struggled to ever do without the show.. Hopefully that stands for something when Viacom get their hands on the channel in a few weeks.. I also hope they use BB to cross-promote new shows.. Typically it hasn't worked, however that's because the poor budget of the channel produced poor quality shows, however Viacom has already stated a massive increase in funding, so this can only be good news!

I mean it's never in a million years going to beat BBC1 (has C5 ever beaten it?) and beating ITV is pretty rare for it too - so a good night for it last night I think

Well it is as long as Viacom have faith in the show.

On C5 it beat everything once! It was however for CBB, for the first ever launch on the channel, it had 5 million viewers and a 21.8% share?? BBC One had just 14% share for Torchwood, I think that was an amazing day for the Channel.. It averaged nearly 10% for the day! compared with its usual 3%.. Bit On The Side attracted 1.8 million viewers and a 13% share, however I think it was beaten by BBC One.. It's amazing how the CBB launches continue to pull huge ratings for a channel 5, regularly at 12-15% for the winter series!

If only we'd started with CBB13 instead of the utter arse gravy that was CBB9 and BB12

If we are to judge how Viacom handles MTV, civilian Big Brother should be just fine beyond this year. I guess soon enough we will find out what will be happening to BBUK!

7.5% for last night is very good, ratings still sticking around the 1 million mark though, would be nice to see a rise!

DS has updated.

Big Brother was watched by 1.17m (7.1%) on Channel 5 from 10pm, with 503k (5.4%) sticking around for Bit on the Side

So that is excluding +1. With +1, I predict around 1.22m-1.26m.

Ah I see a 7.5% share floating about and that the +1 figure rounds up to 1.2m, so it must have been 1.23m IMO.

Highest since eviction.

If the Ch5 series started with a series like CBB13 instead of CBB8, it would have been HUGE. CBB8 started with 5.2m and finished with 3.0m, CBB13 started with 3.69m and ended with 3.71m. Had a series like CBB13 launched with 5.2m, it would have averaged around 4.5m across the series!

Looking at the excl +1 and incl +1 share.

7.5 / 7.1 x 1.17m = 1.24m approx inc +1
