Makosi working on autobiography
Quote:
Makosi says she is working on her autobiography
On the Pulse
1 September, 2006
Former Big Brother contestant Makosi Musambasi caused a storm of outrage by doing everything you wouldn't expect of an African woman especially on British national television. A humble looking Makosi poured her out to our On the Pulse programme declaring that those days are now behind her. 'People are free to take whichever side of me they want,' she said in the interview, 'the journalists have covered my reputation and not my character,' she added. She says she converted to Christianity and attends the Forward in faith Ministries in the United Kingdom at her local High Wycombe branch.
Makosi says she has taken up a role as an ambassador for the girl child network in Africa under the banner of an organisation called Big 5, which she co-founded. She says she will be actively involved in issues that affect the welfare of women in Africa. She dismisses the Big Brother image as just a brand or product she says she had to live up to in order to try and win. Asked what she intended to do in her life she says she has hired a British author based in South Africa to write her autobiography. Apart from that she is involved in charity work with the group Big 5. She says they want to raise the profile of the African woman on the continent by tackling issues related to HIV/AIDS, education and orphans.
Tune in to On the Pulse with Lance Guma for the full interview.
