Well, Im as sad as all of you about 'The Split', but..............
My belief is that true love waits. In other words, if Paul was truly in love with Helen, he would of waited for her to be ready for marriage/kids and moving to the country. He would also have been encouraging her to go after the media career she wanted, evem if he felt it was the wrong thing to do. He'd also have moved to Bristol with her. Like I say- True love waits. Take my point?
