Hi guys, this is a new account for me due to some problems with my old one.

I was just wondering why the phone room, sweaty box and place where they used to do the news has seemed to vanish this series?

They wanted everything to be from the main studio. Sweaty box still exists but not so sure about the phone room.

To be better with Costings
they have fitted more Editors
and screens in one bigger area.
(they showed that area on BBOTS , the other day)

Faster Editing a show - saves big money
plus they have to do 2 editions as the Daytime show replay
must not have swear words in it


Also using younger new staff has saved big money.



Endemol UK has to Cut costs on everything
they make due to debts

It's a small price to pay I would say. The other rooms wren't anything out of this world.

I hope if BB stays on C5 we see a new studio design. That's what frustrates me the most at the moment. The same studio and format has got very boring over the years.

I feel like the way it is now is far more classy, but I miss the silliness of the sweaty box and phone room, which was less serious and more fun!

I have to say that I am a fan of how they do the news now, and how the camera turns to show a screen with guests in the reality gallery on.

Budget cuts? Well surely Ian still has his same job in the same place, they just make him sit on the sofa instead of going in to talk to him?

Hated the phone room half the time it was the same person on the phone as well ie one of the production team or Rylan phoning up pretending to be some old dear

Saves them paying out to decorate the rooms to fit the new theme. Wouldn't surprise me if small spaces like that cost quite a bit for decoration. Probably far cheaper to keep everything all in the same space.

True! I'm just speculating anyway. Could be a number of reasons as to why they don't use the rooms anymore!

They were decorated to a certain extent though.

I never even noticed they did decorate the sweaty box. Looked just like an office with monitors on the walls to me.

I've also noticed that the audience space has decreased. There used be 3 rows of benches but now there is only 2, probably due to the fact they can't get any one to fill the seats
