Default NOSTALGIA ALLEY

Well, I've had an awful day, so I need to cheer myself up.

I was looking through my tapes today to find Paul, Helen and Dean's interviews on T4.

Very Sweet, Paul is tormented by Vernon and June as 'Don Juan de Clarke' and 'Mr Lover Man' (Shabba) and cries of 'He's a woman nicker!'.

I also trawled through a few old Helen on Lorraine clips - she was so refreshing. Thought I'd share this one:

I think it was Halloween, and they had a 'white witch' on.

Helen had to cut two apples in half and put a piece of paper in the middle of the halves with the name of the love she wanted to keep.......

'Mister Clarke!' said she as she wrote it out.

Then she was asked to bind a pice from each apple around the piece of paper with the ribbon, and make a wish. She said:

'Me and Mr Clarke, together, forever!'

Then the witch lady said

'Think about something you would like to happen'

H: 'I'm thinking !' (Smiling mischeviously)

Lorraine:
'I bet you are, you naughty person!'

Classic.

They had such a laugh together. Such a shame it had to end!

Happy memories though.

As I've been stuck at home I've also been indulging in a bit of nostalgia.

Just looking at those tapes again makes you realise just why we are all so hooked even now.

And yes I've also been looking at old Lorraine tapes. Some of them are classic. The one with the white witch was brilliant. I still cant forgive them for not getting Mr Clarke in at the end when she was looking in a mirror - and bringing on some b****y fireman

A couple I love were the Valentine's Day one when she was talking about her bet and then went on to eat chocolates after being told Paul wouldnt know cos he was in a meeting.

And the other, I think it actually was the last Lorraine when she was asked who she would take in the house with her and she, of course, said Mr Clarke as she couldnt be without him for 9 weeks would be like she had lost part of her body and then went into raptures when she saw her face.

Oh I do miss seeing her on the tele.

His face I think you mean BBee. Yes, that was absolutely lovely. She was positively in raptures.
