Default BBC is working on a Charge for Catch Up on iplayer

They can not allow it to go on as Free.

This was just debated on radio 5
links soon.

The license fee is more than enough.

They also get funds from BBC Worldwide. Stop being greedy.

Hall claims he must charge for catch up
as they have less funding etc.

They should now make the BBC Tax
Reduced to Ł99 a year.

Then it would be ok

Typical Daily Mail BBC bashing.

The article says it would make people who use only catchup pay, getting through the loophole in the licence fee that says you don't have to pay if you only watch on catch up. You wouldn't have to pay any more.

Well that's alright then but how will they track a license fee user and a catchup only subscriber? Will we need logins?

Well it won't happen anyway, not until 2017 if it does as it would require an amendment of the BBC charter.

with Virgin or Sky
it should be within the price you pay.

Meaning by 2017 it will have gone up - what you pay per month

It'll just encourage even more people to turn to 'unofficial' download sources.
Even now you can get TV shows MUCH quicker from other places than you can from iPlayer!

Some of the really popular shows and the big US shows are available within 10 minutes of the show finishing!
If your average laptop owner can organize that why can't massively funded TV Chanels do it ?

They're just gonna make eastenders impossible to watch for the people who miss it/can't watch it at the scheduled time. 10:30 on bbc3 is too late for a lot of people and don't get me started with the omnibus being on at midnight. This will be an awful decision as eastenders is their biggest show (ratings and press wise) and will definitely lose hundreds of
thousands of viewers
