At my school Japanese, French and Spanish are compulsory until Year 9 because it's a language college, but I wasn't there in Year 9 so I never got round to learning Japanese or Spanish.
I can obviously speak English and can hold a basic conversation in French too. |

*blush* English (obviously..) Spanish, French, German, enough Italian to hold a basic conversation, a little bit of Russian and I plan to learn Chinese as soon as I can because our school offers it (I think it's Mandarin Chinese that is taught..) which should be fun!

this is my favourite Spanish phrase :
Es Llama es uno quadrupedo. Translation: The Llama is a quadroped. I use this quite often when I'm in Mallorca. |

Bonjour! Que-est-ce-que? Or something like that....
Je voudrais un cheval noir et Qui s'apelle la poubelle? J'adore une petit lapin et Je mange une croissant! If that makes ANY sense at all! Which I'm guessing it doesnt... ... I have no idea what I just said! Thats what I remember from school! |

German gets very complicated.
They have many words that are extremely long compared to the English. That's because, with the examples that I can think of, when we create a plural word for a group of objects, we create a new word for them. However, Germans can sometimes shove all the words together and create a huuuge compound word. If this doesn't make sense, I'll e.g. English: "Science" Includes Physics, Biology, Chemistry. German: "Naturwissenschaften" Meaning literally: "The study of knowing nature." English: "The sights" As in, "I'm going to see the sights" German: Sehenswuerdigkeiten. Meaning "A visit worthy of seeing". ... I now have no idea why I posted this, but never mind! It's taken me a while, so i'm not gonna waste it, lool! |
