Default commonwealth highlights show is crap

way to much in jokes, barely any sports shown, stupid artsy fartsy camera angles as if theyre shooting a b list guy ritchie ....similar to the appalling sub standard olympics highlights show a few years ago

the presenters clearly think theyre hilarious and more important than the sport, they get the bbc lackies to laugh at every comment, oh its awful

the way over rated bbc showing yet again how arrogant incompetent and complacent they are

my advice watch it live, or sky plus your fave events live because this show is appalling

Well they are relying to much on people using the BBC Sport website, the show is just mainly used for interviews with the medal winners, on the BBC Sport website they compile all the different sports that have been shown in a certain day into the highlights, its pretty good but most people would rather have a decent highlight show with in depth analysis

maybe im in the minority who knows, but i simply want to see better sports highlights and some interviews analysis
this show is a mess......its a sort of pathetic attempt to create a frank skinner or jack whitehall style comedy sports review, except its not funny and theyre not comedians. theyre meant to be sports experts yet its a total disaster. why cant they stop trying to be so fcking clever and show the sports and discuss it in a straightforward manner

Actually it's good, I'd prefer to see interviews with medal winners and pundits than highlights that I've been watching throughout the day

Oh and I'm not having any Olympics Tonight with Gabby Logan shade either. That show was probably better cause there were a bit more highlights and they even crossed live to the boxing some nights, but nah I still think this show is good

I completely disagree. the show is appalling. there is barely any sort and what little there is, is incredibly poorly filmed. do you really like the artsyfartsy camera angles barely showing any highlights? the gabby show was just as awful. the interviews are poor as well , but the lack of any quality highlights in the "highlights" show is the ultimate failure.

If you want highlights use the website, there's a whole tab dedicated to highlights...that's what it's there for. You can even watch all the sport sessions back in full

I'm glad they focus more on the interviews and light hearted banter, when you've been watching for 10 hours I don't need to see the same stuff over again and if I'd missed something I would watch it back online

I want and expect highlights on the highlights show. as a tax payer i should get what I pay for. you want to scour the internet to rewatch entire marathons thats your mistake. i want to watch highlights on the highlights show. they barely have any and the tiny bit they have is unwatchable. youre only disagreeing because you hate me. well done.

You do realise the license fee you pay covers the BBC website as well, don't you? So you are getting what you're paying for, in fact the website is excellent

How you expect them to fit multiple sports highlights into an hour show is beyond me, that's logistically impossible. Multiple swimming races would amount to a good 10-15 minutes from there, same at the track cycling, then highlights from badminton, squash and lawn bowls would all need a good ten minutes each. Add in the gymnastics, boxing and start of the athletics all needing a fair few minutes each and we're already pushing an hour and that's not even factoring in time needed for links to camera and interviews with medalists which are important whether you think they are or not. Trying to fit all of this is not only really difficult but you would STILL get people complaining that they aren't showing enough of one sport, cutting a race down too much so you don't see the start, showing sports with only British interest/not showing enough British interest, the list goes on. There would still be complaints even if they showed highlights because you can never please everyone's interests

And I don't hate you I don't hate anyone on this forum...I've complimented the BBC's coverage of sporting events like these before way before you decided to criticise them, my opinions don't revolve around whether thetruth on TiBB will agree with me or not.

If we're going to throw silly accusations around then I may as well say that you're only complaining because you hate the BBC. See...works both ways.

The show is rubbish, the highlighs show has barely any highlights ans what it does show is appalling, you seem to like a highlights show with little or no highlights and with these absurd camera angles. i found your opinion on that inexplicable. how could anyone watch a highlights show with no highlights and think thats great? bizarre. its like watcing match of the day with barely any highlights and no goals. crazy. Ive written to the bbc and yes I find a lot of BBC's output pathetic. as with everything it seems you want to disagree with me. I feel thats personal on your part. I never said anything revolves around me, nor does everything revolve around you. I do think you target posters. as for this show its a disgrace
