How can you put this in context? They better do a flashback and put it in this time

If they showed what Danielle said about Pav being infatuated with Ashleigh, it would help the casual viewer understand the reason that Chris and Ashleigh are wary of him. By not showing it, the reason for disliking Pav seem to be unjustified. The problem is not with Ashleigh and Chris or Pav, but with bitter Danielle talking bollocks.

Chris did already mention that he didn't like the way he was staring at her when Danielle said what she said.

But they really should do a flashback to Danielle's comments or else it makes little sense

I think Chris is reflecting onto Pav. Apparently he confronts Pav about him "staring" at Ashleigh on tonight's show. Chris is assuming that the public hate Pav because they see him as Pervy and want him out, he doesn't realize that he is wrong about the whole thing and Pav was getting booed just because he was seen as "dull", but is gradually building support, whereas Chris is going the opposite way.
