![]() Thanks to Tom for the Logo. The Game Angel Peaks is a game in which players are given a role to play as well as a special ability and they must work together in order to solve puzzles, make decisions and complete challenges. Make the wrong choices or fail at the puzzles and challenges and you risk dying. Potentially everyone can win but at the same time everyone could lose, there won't be a single victor unless everyone else dies along the way so teamwork is paramount to survival. Despite the name change it's still the same kind of game as the previous Darkwood Isle games. Here is the link to them if you want to see how the game is played. Darkwood Isle: House of the Damned Darkwood Isle: The Other Side The Story So Far We live in a world in which nightmarish monsters exist and the only thing protecting us from them are an organisation known as the Guild, a group of hunters that are dedicated to eradicating monsters. However there was one monster named Astaroth that they couldn't slay and had spent centuries at war with him. Astaroth was a force of pure evil and had, thankfully, been trapped in a place known as Darkwood Isle but the prison was flawed and he was still able to use his powers to torment the town of Darkwood Isle. Eventually, with the help of the Guild's allies, a coven of witches known as the 'All Seeing Eye' and a repentant monster known as Bloody Mary, Astaroth was slain and the monster he created died with him. The Guild's jubilation at finally winning the war was short lived as the All Seeing Eye turned against the Guild as soon as Astaroth was killed. The Guild later discovered that the All Seeing Eye worshipped a being similar to Astaroth, a being known as the Mother of Witches and that the witches turned on them so that the Guild wouldn't interfere with their future plans. Their actions triggered a bitter war between the Guild and the Coven, a war in which only one of them could survive. Witch Hunt It's been a year since the war began and the Guild are losing, their resources and numbers are dwindling whilst the All Seeing Eye are growing stronger every day. Unbeknownst to the guild at the time, the All Seeing Eye own a large business conglomerate and they've used it to denounce the Guild as terrorists making them an enemy of the entire world and forcing them to go on the run. The guild's hopes were nearly extinguished when they discovered the town of Angel Peaks, a place believed to be the home of the Mother of Witches and the new base of operations for the All Seeing Eye. With this information the Guild organised one final operation to eradicate the mother and the All Seeing Eye in one fell swoop. The Guild would assemble a small and undetectable task force and task them with destroying the All Seeing Eye leaders while the rest of the Guild keeps the witches distracted all around the world. It's an all or nothing gambit that would, either way, decide the outcome of the war and the fate of the world. Operation Witch Hunt is our last hope. The Task Force Each player will take on the role of a character in the task force, each character has their own special ability to help the Task Force along the way. Who gets what character will be decided at random at a later date. More characters will be added in the coming days. The Heir Name: ????? Age: 17 Nationality: English Area of Expertise: Assassination Bio: The Windham family were allies to the the Guild for generations and were unfortunately one of the first targets to be obliterated by the All Seeing Eye. The Heir and the family servant were the only survivors of the attack. Losing his family changed The Heir into something dark and twisted and he spent the next year hunting down and murdering any witches he could find. When the Guild got in touch and asked for his and his servant's help with Operation Witch Hunt he accepted without a second thought. He was always happy for another excuse to kill more witches. Special Ability: Despite his age and inexperience, the Heir has managed to take down many targets that are more than powerful enough to turn him into blood stain on the floor. He has a strange penchant for luck that allows him to survive situations that he shouldn't. The Heir has the ability to avoid death twice. The Servant Name: ????? Age: Appears to be in his late 20's or early 30's Nationality: English? Area of Expertise: Cover & Defense Bio: This mysterious and otherwordly servant, despite his youthful appearance, has served the Windham family for longer than anyone can remember. While he enjoys keeping the estate in order and cooking meals for the Heir, his true expertise lies in the art of combat. He is both insanely fast and strong and is a master of hand to hand combat as well as an artist with blades and a master marksman to boot. He is the reason why the All Seeing Eye has not retaliated for the Heir's actions. He accepts the invitation to join Operation Witch Hunt in order to keep the Heir safe but unbeknownst to everyone else, he has his own agenda and reason for going to Angel Peaks. Special Ability: The servant is a powerful and intimidating guardian that can easily protect his charges from monstrous and magical threats that would kill an ordinary man. The Servant can protect others from death but can only do so twice. The Healer Name: ?????Age: 41 Nationality: Kenyan Area of Expertise: Healing Magic Bio: The Healer was a lifelong member of the All Seeing Eye until a year ago when she discovered the true nature of the Coven which spurred her to change allegiances and join the Guild, as a result her daughter was kidnapped and held hostage by the All Seeing Eye. She's a righteous sort that despises magic being used for the wrong reasons and is determined to bring about the end of the All Seeing Eye and the Mother of Witches despite not knowing what will happen to her if the Mother dies. She is not afraid of death as long as she can save her daughter and stop the madness that the All Seeing Eye has brought to the world. Special Ability: The Healer has the power to heal people, she can choose between either healing three injuries or bringing one person back from the dead. The Strategist Name: ????? Age: 32 Nationality: Russian Area of Expertise: Strategy Bio: The Strategist is one of the reasons why the Guild haven't already lost the war as her brilliant plots and plans have allowed the Guild to hold on when they would have been utterly destroyed otherwise. The Strategist is a pragmatic woman who believes that the end justifies the means. She views war like a chess game and she isn't above sacrificing people to gain an advantage which makes her an unpopular but undeniably vital part of the Guild. She is detached from reality and lives only for the 'game' that is war, in short she is a sociopath but despite this she does tend to have a wicked sense of humour. War and death makes her alive. She used to be a jewel in Russia's GRU agency's crown but she left when she accidentally discovered the existence of monsters, the Guild and the All Seeing Eye as she thought waging war against the supernatural would be much more fun than the mundane things she was involved with before. Special Ability: Due to her analytic and strategic mind, the strategist can correctly predict and neutralise all threats from enemies in one chapter. This ability does not cover traps or environmental hazards. The Twins Names: ????? Ages: 24 Nationality: American Area of Expertise: Special Operations Bio: Like the Heir, The Twins never knew an ordinary life as they were raised in secret by their Witch father and Hunter mother who feared what might happen to their family if their relationship and children were discovered. Even though the All Seeing Eye and the Guild only went to war recently, romantic relations between members of the two organisations were always forbidden. Despite always having to live cautiously this unusual family were happy...until eight years ago when their secret was discovered and the Guild sent operatives to kill them. The Twins' parents were murdered but the Hunter that killed them couldn't do the same to the children and so he took them back to the Guild and reasoned with the Commanding Officers that the children did not need to be harmed. Eventually it was decided that the Twins would live as captors of the Guild and would be trained to be special operatives as their DNA possessed the potential for both Witchcraft and the Hunter Arts. Eight years had passed and they have become the Guild's secret weapons. Despite working for them, the Twins despise the Guild but they realise that the All Seeing Eye are the bigger threat. When the All Seeing Eye is finally destroyed the Twins plan to turn their attention towards the Guild. Special Ability: The twins unique aptitudes allow them to pass an choice, challenge or puzzle without consequence whilst still being able to potentially win bonus rewards (like extra of special abilities) if there's one to be won. If a twin dies the surviving twin can still use their power but they'll be illegible to win rewards from the choices, challenges or puzzles they skipped. Case files Snippets of articles, short stories and other written items will be posted in this section. Case Files are filled with valuable information and clues for puzzles and challenges and it's vital to read them as they could mean the difference between life and death. The game is on hold for now but it'll return at some point during off season. I've had some ideas to change the format up a little and I'm not going to be ready to go ahead with the game in it's current state.
