I don't think it's her fault or his fault. Just a miscommunication. Some people seem really serious when they're being funny and Gary is probably one of them.

Now in all fairness that could be taken two ways but the way I would take it is that he didn't want to be asked and that in itself was rude. Edel didn't nominate Gary for all the stupid reasons the others gave she nominated him because she felt miffed that he was offhand when she was only asking him was he ok

I don't see a problem with tbh, like others have said probably just a misunderstanding.

Gary does have quite a monotone voice so it's probably difficult to tell at times whether he is joking or not.

Meh she hasn't got much sympathy and is impatient with Gary but I think people like her because most of the others are such a douches it's hard to find someone to support.
