Riot Games unveiled Warrior, a new animated video featuring 2013 breakout band Imagine Dragons to celebrate the upcoming League of Legends World Championship 2014.
The stylized collaboration sets a competitive tone for the tournament which drew 32 million viewers last year.
“To kick off the start of the action, we set out to craft a war cry to rally behind in a creative collaboration with Imagine Dragons,” Riot said in a statement.
Imagine Dragons, best known for its single Radioactive, took time out of work on its next album to produce the song for its favorite game.
Riot Games CEO and co-founder Brandon Beck stated on Twitter that most of the Imagine Dragons members are level 30 in League of Legends.
“They are legit gamers, part of why the collab was so fun,” Beck said.
An MP3 version of the song is available to download for free.
Sixteen of the best League of Legends teams in the world will begin competition in group stages starting September 18. Two finalists will compete in Seoul, South Korea on October 19 for the title of World Champions and $1 million USD. The total prize pool is over $2 million USD.

Terrible song but an interesting story, It's bizarre to see a reasonably big band support such a fringe event but then again gaming as a spectator hobby is becoming popular due to things like Twitch so maybe it's the next step.
