The Apprentice 2014 begins next week on BBC One with its tenth series: Here’s ten spoiler-esque teasers from the new run. The opening task is a throw back to the past ten years of The Apprentice, featuring elements of the first tasks from the past nine years. But as well the old, there’s the new: More current tasks include seeing the candidates create wearable technology and even YouTube channels. Lord Sugar warns the candidates in the opening episode that he’s after “big bucks” from the candidates business ideas… …so he’s perhaps not too pleased when the first task ends with one candidate trying to shift so-called posh grub in a hot dog suit. The Apprentice 2014 sees more candidates than ever with a total of 20 contestants, some making a surprise entrance in the opening episode. There’s an international flavour to this year’s lot too (although Lord Sugar says that wasn’t intentional) with hopefuls from as far away as Columbia and Canada. But all these business wannabes mean that there’s room for some double firings when Lord Sugar sees fit. And they don’t exactly make it hard for him with some bizarre boardroom tactics, including an ill advised comparison to Del boy and speaking in the third person. Although none of them match up to Steven Ugoalah’s antics, with the 25-year-old Eskimo social worker (seriously) definitely one to watch out for. Finally, for those Uber Apprentice fans, you’ll no doubt be excited to know that work on the eleventh series is *already* underway. The Apprentice starts with a double bill next Tuesday (14/10) and Wednesday on BBC One. Last edited by erinp5; 10-10-2014 at 09:19 PM. |
