I'm not claiming i'm the most religious but...you know what I don't actually want to talk about religion.
the difference is, most atheists don't beg for money every Sunday!

We never ask for a god damn thing when we tell you our opinions, unlike your church, which tells you you have to pay them, and follow them and support them.

we don't ask for a god damn thing, do we?!

we don't ask for a percentage of your income just to hear our opinions, we don't ask you for payment to be part of our club.

get it right.

Can we please stop?

It's much deeper than just asking for money to hear opinions.

Can this thread be closed please.

Rather than cut and run why not explain to people why you believe in the things you do?

After all you are logged into a discussion forum.....

Sorry but that's not your call to make. If you don't like what you see log off, punch a wall, come back on and ignore it.

That's what I do.

Life is ****ty, things are much easier if we take control and make things make sense rather than believing in words that were written by some randoms thousands of years ago based on events around that timer rather than modern times. I get it.
Difference being, i don't ridicule people for believing in things that i don't.. but lets look at it this way, if i said you believed in religion because you're a brain washed soldier of the masses, would that offend you? It probably would, so don't carry on as if people who don't believe in religion are stupid and less worthy than people who are religious, it's just as bad as people mocking your beliefs.

Because I don't have the energy. I've got so many things on my mind and so many applications to go through today. I'm burned.

But my belief started when I was wee. I was always sick in and out of hospitals and doctors gave me weeks to live. My parents, who weren't believers at the time say I randomly wrote a letter to Jesus to please heal me and I lived and I've had some faith since.

I'm not the judgmental type though like those that that say this is how you should live, doing this is wrong etc....I understand it's much easier not to believe as well than to believe.

you are wrong. it's much easer to believe the religious nonsense, cause then you don't have to fear death, and you don't have to form opinions of your own. you can just accept what you are told, and believe you will live peacefully in happiness in HEAVEN when you die. That is far easier than actually having to face your own moriality, and thinking about loosing your loved ones, and contemplating the idea of oblivion. nothingness. could you handle the possibility that everything in this life is actually meaningless? do you understand the concept of oblivion?

No it doesn't offend.

100% nobody is less worthy if they don't believe.

Infact, from some Christians point of view you are the ones that God seeks out for the most. There's the saying like if there's a flock of sheep and one runs, does the shepherd not go out of his way to find that one that is lost rather than staying with those that are safe.

So what do you believe will happen to the likes of me and Liam when we die?

Where do we go?

No the shepherd pens the sheep and goes off after the other one or uses his quadbike. Or a better shepherd does not loose any sheep in the first place

The vast majority of Christians don't ask for money.

You also don't pay any money to enter a church or attend mass.

You can place a small donation in a bowl if you choose, but don't if you don't want to.

Making out churches are some place where the priests are raking in the cash is absurd.

No payment required to be a Christian. Atheism isn't a "club" either.

Actually for me personally I would much rather like to think that we just end when we die end of story.

I don't think a lot of people go into religion just for the eternal life it's much deeper than that. They are looking for more than what the world has to offer.

Listen when that velvet bag goes round I know people just love to donate and not make a chink, ie in goes the folding and the shame of those who chink. Also the looks of death to those who pass the bag by...

Well we don't have a velvet bag. There's a bowl at the back of the church for people to donate as and when they like.

Each time I pass it's full of loose change and bits that people can lose or buy candles.

To suggest you are "charged" to be a Christian or that churches are raking in cash from parishioners is laughably absurd.

Not for me to judge. I told you i'm not the judgmental type. The god works in mysterious ways thing is real in the sense even all those pastors and priests that have spent their life reading the bible still don't have everything sussed.

Pardon?

Disagreeing with religion or believing something different isn't ridiculing. Lostalex's methods of belittling Christians and insulting them is ridicule.

funny, you don't see many homeless priests... actually they seem to dress quite well. and none of them work. how many Christian leaders pay their own way without asking for any donations? How many Churches has GOD built? oh yea, none.

How many ****ING DISEASES HAS GOD CURED?

NONE.

how many tears has God dried?

none.

Clue is in the word "donations". Are you forced to make donations? No. Of the donations that are made, is it a lot of money? No, not at all.

Do priests live a life of luxury? No, not really.
