Default Off to Kenya..

Hi everyone, i'm back.

Basically, next June i'm going to Kenya for 10 days. The first few days will be in a nice, posh hotel, swimming, going on safari's etc. The other will be in the poorer part and live for a few days like they do with no running water, electricity etc and do some projects there. From now untill June, i need to raise about a grand doing fundraising, charity stuff etc so i therefore need ANY suggestions you all have as a good way of making money, fundraising. I just pray that it doesn't clash with my GCSE's otherwise i can't go.

So, all idea's would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

You could do an auction at your school...... either boys get auctioned off or girls do obviously for dates not for anything else

Or:
Quizzes
No work day, students choose what they want to do
Bad hair/tie day
It’s a Knockout competition
Treasure hunt
Longest chain of paper-clips, line of coins, etc
Carol singing..... goof time of year for that!!!!
Murder Mystery evening
Penalty shoot-out competition
Computer games knockout

Go on to google and see what you find!

You could have like a non school uniform day, auction sweets (a boy in my class bid £7 for a tube of smarties, for charity though), Footy/netball tournament

Rent a costume and fundraise? (After getting permits etc)
Organise a top of the flops/battle of the bands kinda thing at school, with tickets.
Raffle (Prizes donated by local companies/businesses).

Good luck, sounds like a good trip

Thanks for all the idea's everyone, shall put some into practice soon. Cake sale is currently happening as the school has went all healthy so selling cakes (we make them ourselves ) will probably go down well with the greedy fookers.

I'm doing a sponsored walk and/or a sponsored climb up Mount Snowdon which we're going to be getting into the Echo (newspaper) for.

ANYmore idea's you have would be great please, anything really, no matter how daft.... i'm the king of daftness. Also, anything that could possibly be done over the internet too, maybe that could be done? Something like that? I really don't know, quite stuck so i'd be really grateful for your idea's.

what about if you Give up something you would really miss, like chocolate or TV ect ect and then get people to sponsor you for each day that you manage to go without or a sponser silence.

You could dress up as a girl, and ermm.... be a ladyman of the night.... Or not.

Uhrrm... get your teachers involved and do a sponsered sponge the teacher. Where they stand there, and people pay 50p to wet sponge a teacher.
Nah, I'm outta ideas.

You and your mates could run a "car wash" at school. You basically wash the teacher's cars for a set fee. It can be a good earner too.

At my school at the end of every year, the current year 9s do a thing called Enterprise Day. It's like a day where they arrange fun activities for the rest of the lower school to do, all money raised for charity. They raise like £900 each time, which is really good. There's loads of stuff going on, so I know literally loads of activities, money raising stuff to do.

There's stuff like - 5 a-side, sponge the teacher, smashing plates LOL, food and drink stools, game stools, bike riding games, kick-up games and all sorts.

They probably all sound really bad but people do get addicted and spend serious cash.

Our little primary school does that as well.. it's the P7s who run it. It's usually successful as well Mark.

Oh really?
I've never heard of anywhere else that does it. It's true though, sounds bad but does literally raise loads. Your money goes to charity too right?

Yeah. It does. Our school has won loads of awards for the stuff it's doing. There seems to be more going on at ours than the other local ones. So, I'm glad that's where my kids go. They might learn something...

Yeah, it's good for children to be aware of charities and how they can help.

Yup, I agree with that... And, since Anthony is a charity at the moment, we need to think of ways to help him! LoL

Oh right, yeah, the thread

Well yeah, like we've said, there's always loads of activities you could do to raise money. Not always a matter of selling stuff.

It's better if it's not selling stuff, cuz then there's no initial outlay..
